Money is one of the precious assets on earth because most of our needs in life require it. For example, you need money to acquire basic needs and wants such as food, water, cloth, land, and a house.

Money plays a vital role in our lives because it is one of the controlling forces on earth. No one can deny this fact; money is a necessity on earth. Life on earth can be full of sorrow and pain without money.

Some people will undermine and hate you if you are weak financially. However, money is not the ultimate in life. If money were the ultimate in life, financially stable people would not be committing suicide.

Some financially stable people are full of sorrows, pain, fear, and confusion because of their money and assets. God uses the things we value on earth as his construction materials in the Celestial City.

The roads of heaven are full of gold, diamond, and several precious stones not available on earth. Some people use corrupt ways to acquire money because they treasure money above everything. Some people even go far by killing human beings for money, fame, and power.

Money is important, but it is not the ultimate. In this article, I will share with you the top seven things greater than money. If you are the type that values money above everything, think twice because money has limitations.

There are some things money cannot acquire. However, some people commit crimes because of poverty. Note that we have levels of poverty and prosperity. Some people also commit heinous crimes because of their wealth and greediness.

People create products and services and sell these commodities to acquire money. Some people invest in profitable ventures such as real estate to multiply their money. Some people visit shrines to get money.

Some people use fraud and technology to scam others to acquire money. There are several ways people acquire money. One thing you must know about money is that it solves many problems, but it is not the ultimate.

What I am about to share with you in this article will increase your knowledge and force you to think twice if you value money above everything. Apostle Paul wrote that the love of money is the root of all evil.

 

…they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:9-10 KJV

Note the word, the love of money, which means money itself is not evil, but the love (LUST) of money makes people engage in evil activities. Some people engage in prostitution and robbery because of greediness and financial poverty.

Some people embezzle the taxpayer’s money because of greediness. Most African countries are not advancing because of greed and weak security systems. Most people value money, but they do not use the right ways to acquire money.

Seven Things Greater Than Money

1. Good name is greater than money

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Proverbs 22:1 KJV

One of the wisest and wealthiest men that ever walked on earth wrote that we should value a good name above riches, silver, and gold. If you analyze the words of Solomon, you will understand that Solomon was a man of power, authority, fame, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and great wealth.

Talk of houses, gold, precious silver, human servants, and any worldly asset you can think of, Solomon had it all. He emphasized that a good name (the integrity of heart and life) is better than riches, money, and silver.

Life without integrity, godly character, and attitude is a disaster because no one will trust you with his precious asset or life. Before buying a product or service, you check the customer reviews, credibility of the manufacturer, quality, price, and other vital aspects because you don’t want to waste your resources.

In the same way, people will not respect you if you have bad character, bad habits, a bad reputation, and ungodly integrity. Some people (enemies) may humiliate you because it is part of life.

No matter the false accusation and humiliation people rain on you; God will save you if you keep your godly integrity. You may be sound financially, but you lose the deserved honor and leadership position if you are weak morally.

You will have some false friends who will adore your bad character because they are also corrupt. Such people are your enemies in disguise. Having all the money in the world and having a bad name is a great error.

The enemy can trap you if you have bad character. The devil can trap you if you have bad character. The law enforcement agencies can trap you if you have bad character and attitude. There are some places you cannot enter if you have a bad character.

God will resist you if you have an evil character. The devil will recruit you as his agent if you have an evil character. Money without a good name is like fire and water. The water (bad character) will put off the water (money).

Like a fool with money, he destroys himself (see Proverbs 1:32). Your money may cover you temporarily. In the long run, the truth will come out. Like a pregnant woman trying to hide her pregnancy, give her time, and her stomach will expose her condition.

Your money can lift you to a certain height, but your bad name will bring you down if you don’t repent. Your employees will not be willing to work with you if you have a bad name. People will not allow you to lead them if you have a bad reputation.

Your money will qualify you, but your bad name will disqualify you. As human beings, we may have some weaknesses, but we will overcome them with the help of the Holy Spirit and the Word (Holy Bible).

I know some people that tag themselves that no one is perfect, so they never strive for perfection. That is an error. The fact that we have weaknesses does not mean we cannot change. (meditate on Matthew 5:48).

• Are you visionary?
• Are you disciplined?
• Are you focused on life?
• Are you utilizing the gifts God has invested in you?
• Are you honest?
• Are you purposeful?
• Do you have integrity?
• Can people trust you to lead the organization or institution?

Repent from any known bad habit so that the wealth will become profitable to your family, the church, and the world. Meditate on this holy scripture for more profound revelation.

2. Good health is better than money.

• Have you ever felt sick before?
• How did you feel?
• How did you see the world? Know these truths.

• Money without good health is like walking in the rain without a covering (an umbrella or raincoat).
• Money without good health is like walking in extremely cold weather without a covering.
• Money without good health is like sleeping in an extremely hot room with a blanket without a cooling device.

If you have good health, you have life. Maybe you should visit the hospital or clinic one day and see the condition of people. Try enquiring from the sick people in the hospital, and they will tell you about the pain they are going through.

• What is the essence of money if you cannot spend it wisely?
• What is the essence of money if you cannot enjoy it?
• What is the essence of money if you always use it to cure sickness?

You may not have money, but you have great chances of advancing in life if you have good health. Good health empowers you to pursue the assignment God has programmed for you. Good health prepares you for the future.

• Money without good health is pain, sorrow, and misery.
• Good health without money can position you to plan for advancement.
• Money without good health limits your movement and advancement in life
• Money without good health limits you not to enjoying life.
• Money without good health can lead to premature death.
• Money without good health is a life crisis.
• Money without good health is a waste of time, energy, and resources.

If you have good health, you have many options in life. Your good health is one source of power and divine strength. Good health is a pathway to wealth, so value health because you cannot enjoy your hard-earned money in sickness.

 

3. Peace of mind is greater than money.

• How can you progress in an environment of conflict?
• How can you succeed in life if people are constantly threatening you?
• How can you make important decisions when you don’t have peace of mind?

Money is good, but you will always make bad decisions if you don’t have peace of mind. One thing you must know about the mind is that it needs a peaceful environment to progress. Living in an environment of conflict creates depression, fear, disturbance, pain, sorrow, and evil.

• How can you advance in life if your children and loved ones are addicted to destructive drugs?
• How can you progress in life if your family is always in conflict?
• How can you progress in life if you are confused?

Life without peace is a life of misery, depression, and confusion. You cannot enjoy your money if you don’t have peace of mind. Some people cannot enjoy their money because they use illegal and evil ways to acquire it.

Money without peace of mind is like running barefooted in a river. Peace prolongs life. It helps you to accomplish a task with ease. If you have peace of mind, you get ample time to reflect and adjust your decisions.

Life will be smooth if you have a peaceful family, friends, co-workers, and environment. But if you have no peace in the house, workplace, and neighborhood, you will always feel frustrated. The money may temporarily adjust your happiness, but sorrow will begin to dominate you in the long run. Value peace with all your heart. When you have peace and money, you will enjoy it, but you will regret it if you have money without it.

 

4. Having Christ Jesus is greater than money.

If you have Christ Jesus, you have everything because Christ Jesus is the Creator of the world (mediate on John 1:1-14). If Christ Jesus is in your life, you carry spiritual power. You have control over every spiritual force and power to make wealth because the manufacturer of wealth lives inside you (meditate on 1 John 4:4).

Haven’t you read in the newspaper and watched on the media that rich people are dying. Some rich people die prematurely because they have no spiritual power or no covering in the realms of the Spirit.

One thing you must know about life is that it is spiritual (meditate on Hebrews 11:3). Maybe your spiritual senses are not sensitive, so you doubt the spiritual world. It’s my prayer that the Holy Spirit opens your eyes of understanding and other spiritual senses to experience the realms of the Spirit.

You cannot use the money to transact business in the spiritual realm because spiritual forces don’t value it. Money may be important on earth but not in the spiritual world! You may argue that we live on the earth; therefore, we must value money above spirituality.

I understand your point, but money is not the ultimate. There are some aspects of life you must focus on. The Holy Scriptures make us understand that there are some spiritual forces waging war against us in the realm of the Spirit (See Ephesians 6:10-12, 1 Peter 5:8-9).

Living without Christ Jesus is like a child living in the wild bush. Any wild animal can attack the child. We live among wolves and serpents (see Matthew 10:16). Without Christ Jesus, these serpents and wolves in sheep's clothing can harm you.

Even in your bloodline, you cannot trust everyone because Christ Jesus said a man’s enemy would be those of his household (see Mathew 10:36). Money without Christ Jesus is suicidal because the natural man is wicked (meditate on Jeremiah 17:9, Matthew 15:19, Mark 7:21-22, John 2:23-25).

Some people can take you to evil shrines to terminate your life. Without Christ Jesus on your side, these evil forces can trample upon your money and scatter your hard labor making your life miserable.

Money is good, but without Christ Jesus, you are the most vulnerable person on earth. A man with Christ Jesus is more valuable than a rich man without Christ Jesus.

• Do you have Christ Jesus?
• Does Christ Jesus know you?
• Are you a genuine Christian believer?
• Are you only known by your money?

Embrace Christ Jesus as the Saviour and Lord of your life for a fruitful life.

 

 

5. Surrounded by pure people is greater than money.

God uses creation to save. As far as you are a human being, you need other human beings in life. Even God Almighty had to become a man to save the world (meditate on 1 Timothy 3:16). You cannot be an island of your own.

You need others to progress in life. Money has limits because there are some things human beings can make that money cannot do. If all you have is money, then you are to be pitied. A day may come in your life people have to help you do something.

If you want to test this truth, try visiting the mortuary or a homeless child, and you will understand this point. If you have a good relationship with others, your trust, and assistance stretch. People are willing to support someone who genuinely loves and cares.

• You need encouragement from people because you are an emotional being.
• You need people to reason with because you are a rational being.
• You need people to communicate with because it boosts your health.
• You need people around you because of an emergency.
• You need people around you because you have limitations.

Money alone cannot solve all the problems. Although Solomon writes that money answer all things. It would be best if you examine those words objectively and subjectively. Money without genuine people is a waste of time because false friends will forsake you in the stormy season.

Like the internet without a computer. How can you use the internet? The computer gives relevance to the internet. In the same way, human beings give relevance to money. You need people to prepare healthy food for you.

The money will not prepare healthy food (Buying food from outside is not 100% safe). You need people to run errands for you. The money will not run the errands. Money is good, but without human beings, it is useless. Robots may help, but they are limited without human beings. If you are not surrounded by people who love you from their hearts, you are in great danger.

• People who love you from the heart will tell you the truth.
• People who love you from the heart will teach you something money cannot teach you.
• People who you from the heart will save you in your vulnerable state.
• People who love you from the heart will see dangers and advise you.
• People who love you from the heart will protect you from enemies.
• People who love you from the heart will teach you how to profitably use your money and resources.

Are you surrounded by people who love you from their hearts? Are you surrounded by sycophants, or are you surrounded by your money?

 

6. Having God’s Word (Holy Bible) in your heart is greater than money.

Which is best, having an electronic device and having the knowledge to create an electronic device? You must know that God’s Word (Holy Bible) has the power to save the soul, spirit, and body from destruction.

The Word of God carries spiritual power. The wisdom within God’s Word can make you prosperous if you diligently search and obey them (meditate on Joshua 1:8). If you have God’s Word in your soul, you have a greater advantage in life.

God’s Word makes you think like the Creator of the universe. The Word can deliver you from calamities. You carry uncommon wisdom and understanding if you have God’s Word in your heart.

Money is a branch of God’s Word. God’s Word has unlimited branches. If all you have is money, you have a tiny percentage of God’s resources in your heart (meditate on Haggai 2:8). If you study the Word of God and apply the principles within, you carry power, authority, blessings, anointing, gifts, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that ordinary people do not have.

• Are you only concentrating on money?
• Do you have God’s Word in your heart?

 

7. Having heavenly treasures is greater than money.

It is good to have earthly treasures on earth, but it is far greater when you have treasures in heaven because heavenly treasures have no expiry date. Treasures on earth have an expiry date. Criminals can break in to steal them.

Disaster and war can destroy your money and earthly treasures. However, no one can ruin your divine blessings because they are eternal. Get me right; I am not condemning earthly treasures because God blesses people with worldly treasures.

The most important ones are heavenly ones! If all you have is earthly treasures, you are to be pitied because you will die and live them behind. The Federal Reserves and International banks can print money to regulate the economy, so don’t put all your trust in your money.

Be glad if you have treasures in heaven because you will enjoy them forever and ever. Are you investing only in the earth? It is good to invest in the earth because of the future generation. It is good to invest on earth to make and multiply resources but are you working on the other side?

• Have you made some investment in heaven to increase your divine treasures?
• Are you winning and establishing souls for Christ Jesus on earth?
• Are you sowing seeds into the kingdom of God?
