The highest and the greatest form of spirituality is to walk and live in the love of Jesus Christ because love holds all the law in a vacuum. Love is a seed of the Holy Spirit, and this virtue lives in the heart of every man. The most treacherous person on earth has a virtue of love abiding in his heart because God created him.
Love is one of the greatest weapons every human because it can change the evilest person into a godly person if it is expressed. It is only those who are completely possessed with an evil spirit who reject love when it is expressed towards them. Love is in different dimensions, and as Christians, we have to know the kinds of love. I will share the types of love the Holy Spirit showed me to you in this article and briefly explain to you what it means to walk in the love of God. The types of love are as follows.
- Divine love (Agape or unconditional love).
- Worldly love (Connected with the things of this world).
- Selfish love (Self-centeredness love).
- Family love (Connected to the blood and tribes).
- Spiritual love (Connected to People of the same faith).
- Metaphysical love (Soulish and empathy love).
- Fleshly love (Erotic love).
Divine love emanates from the heart of the Holy Spirit. This love is pure and undefiled. It springs forth life and wisdom to the bearers. The holy angels, saints, demons, and the trinity recognize this love. This love empowers the Christian to embark on missionary work. This love empowers the Christian to labour for the kingdom of God. It empowers the believer to intercede and to search for the sheep and the lambs who need care and love.
This love opens the heart of the Christian to fellowship with the Holy Spirit through spiritual songs. There is no envy and pride in this love. A Christian who possess this love encourages others to do great things for the Lord because the Holy Spirit is the influencer and the activator of this love. A sanctified Christian can activate this love.
Worldly love is controlled by unbelievers. It is the exact opposite of spiritual love.
There are envy and pride in this love. People search out for what they can get before they express this love. This love emanates from the logic of men. The person looks at the advantages and disadvantages before the person can commit himself or herself. For example, before a woman will marry a man, she will investigate whether the man has a house, a car key, and a powerful, secured job. This is a worldly love because the woman does not love the man, she is just coming in for the man’s wealth. Most often, women kill men and take away the property. This love is deceptive, manipulative, and full of pretense.
Selfish love works in a person's mind. The person only loves himself and forget about others. This love does not bother whether or not the partner or the opponent is hurt. Most women and politicians operate in this love. For example, most people only think about their family and close friends only. They don’t think about the welfare of others. This love is rooted in the heart of an unconverted person.
Family love is between people of the same bloodline. For example, parents and children, uncles and aunties, grandparents, and nephews. It is a circle that runs in the family's blood. This love is strong because there is a spiritual and soulish connection between the parents and the children. This love is also based on terms and conditions. For example, a parent promising his child to buy him a laptop when he behaves well and tops the class in the examination. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions breaks the love.
Spiritual love is connected between the Christian and the Holy Spirit. This love is seen when the Christian develops a consistent fellowship with the Holy Spirit. The Christian builds an altar for the Lord and makes special sacrifices such as quiet time, worship and praises, and prayer. This love makes the Christian active to the voice of the Holy Spirit because his spiritual senses are trained to receive from the Lord.
Metaphysical love is connected to the emotions, desires, and will of man. This love connects your heart to other men. Empathy develops in your heart when you see those who need support and love. This love can draw you closer to domestic animals such as cats, dogs, parrots, and other friendly animals. This love is controlled by your passions because it is controlled by your soul.
Fleshly love is connected to the desires of the body. This love can be expressed in marriage because it bonds the marriage partners together. This love is linked to sexual addictions and romantic activities. This love becomes sinful if it is expressed by unmarried couples. It can also generate the spirit of lust if it is not controlled by the will power and by the Holy Spirit.
