Loved one in Christ
Jesus, I believe you are growing in the strength of the Lord. In this article,
I will share one of the best divine principle and spiritual weapon you can use
in the season of spiritual warfare.
This divine weapon may not
be effective if you have not applied the divine principle number four. Many Christians complain that God’s Word does not
work. Well, I may agree with them to some degree because some portion of God’s promises
(Word) demand some principles (activation) before it works. I will share some
of the principles with you in this article.
First, understand that
our battle is spiritual, which means fighting the enemy in the physical realm
is vain. We don’t fight with guns, bombs and other earthly weapons as some
military team does.
Our battle emanates
from the spiritual world because Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus
that we don’t fight with human beings (See Ephesians 6:12). Although we don’t
fight with human beings, some battles on earth demand watchfulness, wisdom and
boldness.
For though we walk in
the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our
warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong
holds;)
Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge
of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2
Corinthians 10:3-5 KJV
From the Holy
Scriptures, Apostle Paul writes to the church in Corinth (includes every
Christian church) that the weapons of our warfare do not reside within the
earthly sphere. Paul further states that it is our responsibility to pull down
strongholds.
These strongholds are
the barriers that stop us from experiencing God’s blessings. They are like
fortress ruled by Princes and Kings in the spiritual realm. Paul never said we
should play with these strongholds but to pull them down, which means we must
apply spiritual force and power to pull down the evil forces that limit God’s
glory on our lives.
When it comes to the
enemy and his minions, we must not be lenient with them. Such forces only
submit to unstoppable divine power. For you to break free from abuse, slavery, evil
forces and wicked people, you need divine strength to come out because, without
the power of God and divine wisdom, these evil powers will never allow your
freedom.
It is like a wicked
king who abuses his people. For you to come out from the bondage of such a
king, you need some powers above his powers because such a king will not let
the slaves go free (Meditate on Mark 3:27).
When Moses was taking
the Israelite's to the promised land (Canaan), Pharaoh (a symbol of the devil)
and his people (a character of demons) revenged because they were not willing
to let the Israelite's (symbol of Christians) go free.
God had to perform
strange miracles to let Pharaoh and his people know that He is the source of
power. God challenged their power (god) through miracles and plagues. Pharaoh
did not surrender until God killed the entire firstborn of the Egyptians.
The reason God killed
the firstborn of the Egyptians is that the Egyptians valued their firstborn
like gods. Every miracle and plague God performed through Moses had a meaning.
God was breaking the Egyptians' stronghold because He wanted to let them know
that He is the source of power.
God destroyed all the Egyptians'
strongholds to let the Egyptians know that He is above their stronghold. At
last God crushed Pharaoh and his people in the red sea because they decided to
attack Moses and the Israelites.
Child of God, do not fear
the enemy because Christ Jesus is above every power and authority. In verse
five of second Corinthians chapter ten, Apostle Paul writes.
Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge
of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2
Corinthians 10:3-5 KJV
We must take down every
ideology, philosophy, and judgement that opposes the Christian faith and every
knowledge that challenges the authority of God’s Word. We must stop every
channel that limits and corrupt people’s mindset in the knowledge of Christ
Jesus.
Anything that overrules
the power and sovereignty of God’s Word must be brought down because it is our
responsibility. Most often, the channels that destroy and limits God’s kingdom
on earth emanate from the kingdom of darkness.
Some Christians have
failed to put on the garment of the lion because of fear. Christ Jesus is the
Lion of the tribe of Judah and the Lamb of God. When Christians only puts on
the garment of the Lamb and fails to put on the garment of the Lion, the kingdom
of darkness will dominate.
We fight the kingdom of
darkness in the secret place because that is our battleground. Sometimes, I
wonder some Christians are only preaching about love and ignoring the gospel of
spiritual warfare, faith, holiness, evangelism, prayer and intercession and
other important doctrines.
It looks like the
kingdom of darkness is stronger than the kingdom of light from my perspective
because the unbelievers are the one’s occupying the vital leadership position
of the world. It is said that the kingdom of darkness prints monies and use this
money to promote ungodly business and organization.
If the light is more
powerful than darkness, why are we (Christians) afraid to confront these dark
kingdoms in our secret place? If Christ Jesus is powerful than every powers, principalities
and leadership, why should we be afraid to pull down these evil forces in the
secret place and enthrone Spirit-filled Christians into these offices?
I wrote an article titled,
Why Christians Must Occupy Every
Leadership Position and a book
with the same title. I know some religious and carnal Christians will use John chapter eighteen verses thirty-six
to challenge that article and book.
We must understand that
Jesus said to Pilate, His kingdom is not of this world because Jesus was on
assignment. Jesus had to finish His course and ascend to His Heavenly Father.
Secondly, we have many kingdoms on earth and heaven.
There are many reasons
why Jesus gave that answer to Pilate of which I cannot write all of them into
details in this article. According to the Pauline letters, he notes that we
must pull down strongholds.
This requires wisdom.
Pulling down strongholds does not mean we should go about destroying people’s
property. That is unlawful. We must use the spiritual power, divine wisdom and
knowledge given to us by Christ Jesus (Holy Spirit) to maintain the Holy
Spirit's leadership on earth.
The question is, what
is this divine power, and how can we execute it? First, understand that this
divine power is God’s Word (promises declared in the Holy Scriptures). Before
we enforce this invisible weapon, there are some principles, you must know.
How to activate God’s Word in your spirit, soul and body
If ye abide in me, and
my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.
John
15:7 KJV
Before the power in the
Word works in your life, you must be born again. Jesus said if we remain in Him
and walk with the Holy Spirit despite the rejection, trials, opposition, and affliction from the devil, unbelievers and ignorant “Christians” and secondly, if we allow the living Word take
dominion over our sour (desire, emotions, intellect, and mind) and spirit,
whatever we ask shall be done.
I believe you have now
understood why sometimes the Word seems to make no effect in your life. If you
are not born again, and secondly, there is no Word inside you, that is, you
don’t have any relationship with Christ Jesus; the word will not work in your
life (Meditate on Psalm 37:4).
You must build yourself
to a stage where the Word becomes part of you. When the Word is in your spirit
and soul, it shows in your conversation. When you are tempted to sin, the Word
in you speaks.
If you believe with all
your heart that Jesus is Lord and that there is no God beside Him, the Word in
your mouth will make an impact in the spiritual realm. You may not see it in
the natural realm when you speak out the Word.
When I am preaching or
teaching tertiary students God's Word, there is total silence in the lecture
hall. Almost everyone in the lecture hall pays strict attention when I am
preaching and teaching the gospel. Other times too, I sense a strong opposition
if someone carries a demonic spirit.
The person with the
evil spirit gets out whiles I am preaching, teaching and praying with the
students. The students with the Holy Spirit's fire watch me with amazement
whiles I preach and teach the gospel.
I believe it is the work of the Holy Spirit.
Until the Word take control of your spirit and soul, you will be playing around
the Word. You have to become one with the Word through these channels.
This is the first
principle to enforce if you want the Word out of the mouth to make an impact in
the spiritual realm.
The Power of God’s Word in your tongue.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Proverbs
18:21 KJV
Solomon writes that
destruction and blessings rest on our tongue. This means our tongue carries two
kinds of power. It is the one you choose to feed that becomes the master. You
can choose to invest life for yourself and others or decide to speak curses and
destroy yourself and others.
Most often, extremely
negative people are poor and unhealthy. They don’t have a handsome and
beautiful face. People who always speak evil and never speak blessings become
candidates of the devil.
For us to pull down
every evil stronghold and cast down every imagination that limits us not to come to
the knowledge of Christ Jesus, we must decree God’s promises recorded in the
Holy Scriptures.
I gave out some keys on
how to make the Word effective on your tongue. One thing about the devil and
his minions is that they fear God’s Word because the powers inside God’s Word
are immeasurable. Below are some essential truths about God’s Word. Knowing
these truths will help you in spiritual warfare.
1
. The Word is a supernatural fire that destroys every evil thing that crosses
its way.
Is not my word like as
a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Jeremiah
23:29 KJV
One important truth you
must know about God’s Word is that it is a consuming fire that burns and roast
any evil robes, gates, prisons and barriers that stops the Christian from
entering his promise land.
If you want the Holy
Spirit to consume every evil spiritual force destroying your investment, decree
God’s Word with faith. The Word will turn into a blazing fire and burn to ashes
any evil gates and walls holding your glory.
2.
The Word is like a hammer that scatters the strongholds in our life.
Is not my word like as
a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Jeremiah
23:29 KJV
Maybe you have prayed
strange bulletins yet; you see no changes. It is time to confess, and decree
God’s Word because it has the internal powers to break every door the enemy
wants to close in your life.
3.
The Word is Immeasurable in strength.
For the word of God is
quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the
dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews
4:12 KJV
Have you ever thought
of the fastest weapon or instrument in this world? No device can outrun the
speed of God’s Word because it performs its duty most quickly. As soon as we
confess and decree the Word of God, it travels with an immeasurable speed to
perform its task.
The life force within
the Word has the power to bring life to the dead. If we should combine all the
energies in this world in a circuit and measure up with God’s Word, it cannot
reach the energy within God’s Word.
It doesn’t matter how
strong and powerful the enemy may be. You have to confess, decree and declare
the Word and the powers (creative forces) within the Word will break through
the powers limiting your glory on your life.
Maybe you have been
decreeing ineffective words. Those words may not work because it emanated from
the soul, spirit or flesh of a human being. The time is now to take hold of
God’s Word because the Word can break through the soul, spirit and flesh of
man.
One thing about the
devil and his minions is that they can detect soulish prayers, spirit prayers
and prayers that emanates from the flesh. The devil and his minions can stop
such prayers in the spiritual realm. When it comes to the Word declaration,
they cannot stop it because of the immeasurable power embedded in Word.
4.
Jesus Himself spoke the Word before the Word worked.
And when he was entered
into a ship, his disciples followed him.
And, behold, there
arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the
waves: but he was asleep.
And his disciples came
to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
And he saith unto them,
Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds
and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Matthew
8:23-26 KJV
When the winds and sea
attacked Jesus and His disciples, Jesus spoke the Word, and the winds and sea
obeyed. When Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea, there was a great calm. This
means we must counter any winds (fear) and sea (confusion and death) that comes
our way or crosses our path with the Word.
If Jesus, who was the
Word in the flesh kept silent, the winds and sea would have killed Him and His
disciples on the stormy sea. When you allow fear to dominate you, you lose. The
truth is, you may have the Word in you, until you decree the Word inside you,
nothing happens.
Don’t allow the devil
and his minions to limit you with all the Word inside you. Speak out the Word
because the Word (Jesus) spoke the Word before the creative forces within the Word
worked.
5.
Jesus defeated the devil with the Word during temptation.
And Jesus being full of
the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the
wilderness,
Being forty days
tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were
ended, he afterward hungered.
And the devil said unto
him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is
written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
And the devil, taking
him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in
a moment of time.
And the devil said unto
him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is
delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
If thou therefore wilt
worship me, all shall be thine.
And Jesus answered and
said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship
the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
And he brought him to
Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou
be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
For it is written, He
shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
And in their hands they
shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
And Jesus answering
said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
And when the devil had
ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
Luke
4:1-13 KJV
The devil tempted our
Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus with the pride of life, the sinful lust of the
eyes and corrupted flesh. The devil wanted to give Jesus temporal power in
exchange for worship. Jesus challenged the devil with the Word. This means the
best way to overcome the temptation and plans of the devil is to speak out the
Word.
