The Power of Persistent Prayers | Moving God with Intercession |
I have received numerous testimonies in the
field of prayers I cannot share all of them in this article. Prayer is one of
the spiritual activities people ignore in life. Try prayers if you have ever
faced a challenge you cannot solve with your strength, power, knowledge,
resources, and connections.
A prayer is an act of
faith and humility. Anytime you make a request from your heart or tongue unto
the “Unseen Creator,” you are praying. Although we have different types of
prayers, you can pray to God (Yahweh) without opening your mouth because God
hears our thoughts and heart desires (meditate on Ephesians 3:20).
For example, we have
spiritual warfare prayers, group prayers, a prayer of agreement, petition
prayers, prevailing prayers, revival prayers, losing and binding prayers, international
prayers, breakthrough prayers, a prayer of seeking and waiting, anointed
prayers, Spirit-led prayers, deliverance prayers, a prayer of supplications,
prayer of thanksgiving, and intercessory prayers.
I will emphasize intercessory
prayers because that is what the Lord is telling me to expand in this article.
I have faced several oppositions in the spiritual realm and real life, and one
thing I have realized is that THE
DEVIL IS REAL.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1
Peter 5:8-9 KJV
As described in the Holy
Scriptures that the devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. I
have seen the devil in the spiritual realm several times. I often become fearful
when I encounter the devil in the spiritual realm.
From some of my
encounters with the devil, his presence of full of absolute hatred, fear,
destruction, and opposition. The devil is always ready to destroy anyone he
meets. The devil looks like an angry lion with human legs and hands in the
spiritual realm.
Other times, the devil can
manifest as a mysterious red dragon with a tail searching for someone to kill and
destroy. I am sharing some of my spiritual experiences with you. I have repeatedly
seen myself fighting with the devil in the spiritual realm.
Sometimes, the devil and
his minions chase me in the spiritual realm. I often fly into the skies to escape the devil's attacks. Note that flying in the
spiritual realm signifies spiritual maturity and power.
If you dream of flying, analyze
the location and time, why you were flying, and the people you were flying with.
It is a hint to know your condition in the spiritual realm. The Holy Scriptures
state that they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength and mount up
with wings as eagles so flying in the dream or spiritual realm is not evil (see
Isaiah 40:31).
As I stated, check the state and season of the flying. It is a hint to know whether it is an initiation of the devil or the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, the devil hides in bushes and buildings to attack people. This is one reason the Word of God states that we must be vigilant and sober because the devil is seeking whom to destroy (see 1 Peter 5:8-9, John 10:10).
The Word (Holy
Scriptures) is not a set of theories. They are real. I pray the Holy Spirit
opens your eyes of understanding and other spiritual
senses to see visions and prophetic dreams. One thing you must know is
that the real lion is Christ Jesus.
Christ Jesus is the lion
of the tribe of Judah. The devil only pretends to be a lion because it camouflages
as an angel of light. The devil walks and lives in deception, and it is our
responsibility to watch and pray.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is
willing, but the flesh is weak.
Matthew
26:41 KJV
Christ Jesus emphasized
that we must stay awake and pray because the devil and human enemies (witches,
wizards, sorcerers, necromancers, magicians, Satanists, and occultic people)
have set deadly traps.
One important thing you
must know about prayer is that it works wonders in the spiritual realm. You
might not see the results in the earth realm because the
ways of the Spirit are mysterious. Keep praying because, with God, all
things are possible.
Sometimes you have to add
fasting to your intercession to intensify the effectiveness of your prayers. Some
spiritual forces and human agents of darkness are extremely wicked, and the
best way to break their stronghold is to fast and pray as led by the Holy Spirit.
In this article, I will
emphasize intercessory prayers because that is one way to command God's power. God
works with laws, and most of his laws are hidden in the Holy
Scriptures. In the book of Ezekiel, our LORD made a powerful statement to the prophet
Ezekiel.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not
cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof,
like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have
taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the
midst thereof.
Her priests have violated my law and have profaned mine holy things:
they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they
shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their
eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the
prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing
vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the
LORD hath not spoken.
The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and
have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger
wrongfully.
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and
stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I
found none.
Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed
them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their
heads, saith the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 22:23-31 KJV
The leaders (ungodly
prophets, kings, priests, princes, and some sect of people) in the land of
Jerusalem were corrupting the system. These people were oppressing the poor and
innocent Jews.
In verse thirty, the Lord
declared that he searched for a man to stand as a mediator so that he would not
destroy the wicked people. In verse thirty-one, the Lord found no intercessor
(a dedicated praying vessel who cried unto God for mercy, judgment, and peace).
Although there were
righteous people such as Zephaniah, Baruch, and Josiah, the Lord needed a
dedicated mediator (intercessor) to deliver the Jews from oppression. Like the
judicial system, when a prisoner is taken to the law court, his lawyer defends
him.
The prisoner’s lawyer
stands as a mediator between him and the Judge. In the same way, God seeks
people to stand in the gap for nations, cities, organizations, families, businesses,
villages, and institutions.
God has left the
management of the earth to humankind, and it is our responsibility to work,
manage and multiply the resources on earth. I have had several visions of
governmental leaders, religious leaders, and prominent people.
Sometimes, the Lord
reveals some visions to me so that I can intercede. God hates evil, so anytime
the devil plans something, he reveals it to us through dreams, visions, trance,
and prophecies to pray against it. We can see several intercessions recorded in
the Holy Scriptures. Before God could destroy the wicked people of Sodom and
Gomorrah, Abraham interceded.
And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous
with the wicked?
Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also
destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are
therein?
That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous
with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far
from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city,
then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to
speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:
Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou
destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there
forty and five, I will not destroy it.
And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be
forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.
And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will
speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not
do it, if I find thirty there.
And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord:
Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy
it for twenty's sake.
And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but
this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not
destroy it for ten's sake.
And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham:
and Abraham returned unto his place.
Genesis 18:23-33 KJV
God was angry with the
evil deeds (sodomy) of the people living in Sodom and Gomorrah, so he decided
to destroy the evil people and the land. Abraham stood in the gap for the
people until an agreement was met.
This incident should
alert us that God works with a man before making decisions. Although God makes
some decisions without human input, most divine decisions demand our
cooperation. When a country, family, organization, or sect of people
consistently sin, it rises to God.
When God sees the people's
level of sin and wickedness, He speaks to his called and chosen vessels to
intercede (preach against the evil deeds, pray or warn the people). The Americans,
Europeans, and some minor cities on other continents need intercession because
the devil has captured numerous people in his prison.
I have seen the wrath of
God coming to these continents. The devil uses the leaders as weapons and the
media to capture numerous Americans into spiritual slavery and witchcraft. The time
is now for genuine Christian believers
to intercede for these continents.
As we saw in the book of
Ezekiel, because God did not find an intercessor, he poured his wrath on the
sinful people. There was another case when God wanted to pour his wrath on the
Israelites. If Moses had not intervened, God would have destroyed the people.
Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and
that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath
wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of
Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he
bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the
face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against
thy people.
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest
by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars
of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed,
and they shall inherit it for ever.
And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his
people.
Exodus
32:10-14 KJV
Moses' fervent
intercession changed the mind of God. This is one reason we must be fervent in
prayers because God expects us to pray. In the process of prayers, God can
release mercies upon the earth.
God may decide to hold
his judgment upon the earth when we pray with all our hearts and warn the
people of their wickedness. Repentance and revival will take place when fervent
prayers rise to the Lord. Apostle Paul knew the power of intercessory prayers,
so he taught his ministerial associate Timothy and the church to intercede for
leadership, families, and people.
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a
quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of
the truth.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 KJV
From the Holy Scriptures,
Apostle Paul described four types of prayers.
1. Prayer of supplication
2. General prayers
3. Intercessory prayers
and
4. Prayer of thanksgiving
Do you know that giving
thanks to God from your heart is a seed of sacrifice and prayers unto God? As a
Christian believer, you must pray for leadership, families, and people of authority
to lead peacefully, honestly, and godly.
The world is filled with
much corruption because dedicated and righteous Christian believers are not
fervently praying for those in leadership. Families are breaking because genuine Christian believers are not praying.
It is the will of God
that we pray because our prayers command the hands of God upon leadership, organizations,
families, countries, cities, and villages. Most of the wars we see in this
world could be stopped if dedicated and holy Christian believers consistently fast
and pray.
Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and
know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any
that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
Jeremiah 5:1 KJV
From the Holy Scriptures,
we can see that God is ready to pardon the evil deeds of the Jews if he finds
an intercessor. God is looking for people who seek the truth. I know it is
sometimes burdensome to dedicate time to pray for others, but if God has given
you the grace to intercede, do it from your heart. Sometimes, God commands his
called and chosen ones not to pray for some people and countries because their
evil deeds have crossed the line of divine mercy.
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them,
which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I
will not hearken unto them.
Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry
unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all
in the time of their trouble.
For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O
Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye
set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense
unto Baal.
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or
prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto
me for their trouble.
Jeremiah 11:11-14 KJV
In verse fourteen of the
Holy Scriptures, God told the prophet, Jeremiah, not to intercede or cry for
the people of Jerusalem because their abominable acts were exceedingly great. The
sovereignty of God makes Him all-powerful because no one can stop him from
doing what he has purposed.
However, we can use the
written Word (Holy Bible) to reason with God during prayers. Whatever God does
is holy because the Holy Spirit will not permit the Heavenly Father and Son
(Christ Jesus) to do evil. In the new covenant, we can pray in the Spirit. As
we pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit makes intercession in the spiritual realm.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what
we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for
us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the
Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will
of God.
Romans
8:26-27 KJV
Praying
in tongues is a great way to deliverance because the Holy Spirit is a perfect
intercessor. Every chosen vessel of Christ Jesus carries power in the spiritual
realm. Like Moses, Abraham, the crying prophet (Jeremiah), Ezekiel, and several
vessels of God fasted and prayed to turn the enemy's plans down and change the
mind of God.
You
can also intercede to command the hands of God. Persistent prayers work
miracles because I have seen numerous miracles in my life, family members, and
those connected to me in the Spirit. Prayer does a lot in our lives, but it has
its limitations. There are some things in life; God expects you to use your
mind, so know when to pray and apply wisdom.
