The Foundations of Holiness

Jesus: The Way, The Truth, & The Life: Isaiah 35:8-10 - The ...
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Hebrews 12:14 KJV

Loved one in Christ Jesus, I believe you are in growing in the Lord. Once again, it’s a pleasure writing to you. In this article, I will take you through the foundations of holiness. Some people think holiness is for "religious people." Holiness counts a lot in our Christian life. Holiness is not a set of legalistic rules. Holiness begins when you repent and confess Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord of your life.

When you repent and become a follower of Jesus Christ, the blood of Jesus Christ makes you holy. From there, press on to the second degree of holiness by sanctifying your soul (conscience, will, emotions, desire, and intellect) with God’s Word (See John 17:17, 1 Peter 2:2).

There are some invisible sins we cannot see. For example, jealousy, pride, ungodly anger, discontentment, and sins of the heart. We cannot see this sin because we hide them in our inner man. If you don’t deal with internal or invisible sins, the Spirit of holiness will not grow in your Christian life.

To build God’s holiness, you must develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit through the Word (Holy Bible). Meditating and practising the Word opens the door for the Holy Spirit to draw closer to you. Soaking into anointed songs filled with the Word regenerates our spirit and builds our soul.

If you don’t have time to worship and praise the name of the living God, you cannot enter the realm of God’s holiness. Build fasting and prayer life. Be led by the Holy Spirit before you embark on fasting. If you build a consistent prayer life, the Holy Spirit communes with your spirit especially if you pray in tongues (Meditate on 1 Corinthians 14:2, Jude 1:20).

If you master these basic principles, you will not struggle to walk in the holiness of Jesus Christ. The question I ask myself is, why holiness? Most vessels in this generation have ignored the medal of holiness on their spiritual armour. Know these truths.
  • Holiness is the personality of the Trinity.
  • Holiness is the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Without the holiness the Holy Spirit cannot exist.
  • Holiness opens the door for the Holy Spirit to access our soul.
  • Holiness is the life of our spirit.
  • Holiness is the energy of God Almighty.
  • Holiness is the fire that destroys sin.
  • Holiness is the enemy of darkness (sin, wickedness, injustice, lawlessness, sickness, death and any negative virtue).
  • Holiness is the devil’s greatest enemy.
  • Holiness is the force that opened the portal for the Heavenly Father to create in the beginning.
  • Holiness is the master key to development, growth, and unity.
  • Holiness is the life of God’s angels.
  • Holiness is the destroyer of evil.
  • Holiness is the mystery behind the suffering we see in this world.
  • Holiness activated war in heaven.
  • Holiness is the virtue that caused division between the earth, the soulish, and the spiritual realm.
  • Holiness activated God's Soul.
  • Holiness resurrected the creative power of the Word (Jesus Christ).
  • Holiness is a spiritual garment that covers us from the Spirit of Delilah (lust, witchcraft, whoredom, and confusion).

I hope these few revelations will empower you to desire holiness. Get my series of books.

8. Spiritual Keys for Life for a more profound revelation.

God needs sanctified vessels to work in these last days because the spirit of Jezebel is dominating the world and many churches. If you want the Holy Spirit to use you mightily and receive visions in these last days, put on the garment of holiness. If you don’t want to become a prisoner in Jezebel’s camp, put on the seal of holiness.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Hebrews 12:14 KJV

Apostle Paul writes to Jewish Christians (includes every Christians), if we don’t establish peace in our lives and those around us, we will not see God. He further states that, without purity of heart, body, and spirit, we will not see Jesus Christ. This means holiness is mandatory to every Christian.

Christians must pursue holiness. It shouldn’t be outward or transparent holiness only. We must not exhibit the holiness of the Pharisees. We must express piety in deeds and words. Our holiness must be outward (transparent) and inward (purity of the heart).

I know there are Christians, musicians, and ministers of God who preach what they don’t practice. This is not the holiness God is talking about. We must practice what we preach and teach. We cannot preach love and live in hatred and jealousy. We cannot preach and teach prayer, faith, prosperity, holiness, and grace and live the opposite.

Be a practitioner of your teaching (See James 1:22-24). If you practice what you preach, teach, and write, your materials will be effective. I emphasize the spiritual life of Christians, the Word, faith, and prayer. I love to read, write, pray, preach, and teach the Word because the Word is full of spiritual authority and revelation.

I make sure I practice what I preach, teach, and write. Whatever God has called you to preach and teach, practice it. If you practice your materials, your followers will practice your principles. Several ladies tempt me, but I have decided I will never defile my garment. Never think, you can defile your spiritual garment and later ask God for mercy.

Do you think God is a fool? God may forgive you. You will face the consequences. It is not a curse, it is a spiritual law (See Galatians 6:7, Romans 6:23). The Holy Spirit needs vessels who have sanctified themselves. If you want God to automatically pour the anointing on you, sanctify yourself with the Word (See John 17:17, Hebrews 1:9).

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Ephesians 1:3-14 KJV

Apostle Paul writes to the Church in Ephesus (includes every Christian) that they should be holy. This is the new covenant, and it is our responsibility to consecrate ourselves and make ourselves available for the Master’s use. Be a special vessel in God’s hand so, He can shape you into a resourceful kingdom leader.

Don’t behave like the unbelievers. They think holiness is for Pastors, Prophets, Apostles, Evangelists, and Teachers. That is a half-truth. Every Christian is supposed to consecrate himself or herself. Don’t use the grace as a license to sin because the grace “teaches us we should deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world” (See Titus 2:12).

God’s grace gives us authority over sin and empowers us to pursue after the holiness of Jesus Christ. I wonder most Christians allow sin to dominate them. Pastor Zac Poonen said, “the grace of God which does not include the fear of God is a false grace.”

From my understanding, the servant of God is saying that a Christian who does not reverence God does not understand grace. It is the grace of God that gives us the liberty and power to live in holiness.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Romans 6:14-15 KJV

Apostle Paul further states that because we are under grace, sin cannot have authority over us. It is only unbelievers that evil has power and authority over them because they don’t have the Holy Spirit living in them. Every believer in Christ Jesus has a seed in his heart.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 3:9 KJV

This seed allows us to hate sin, and desire the righteousness of God. This seed makes us desire the things of God. This seed is the Holy Spirit. God's grace empowers us to love Jesus Christ and pursue his righteousness despite our weakness. Get my book, “How to Walk and Live in the Spirit” for a more profound revelation on grace.

Once saved forever saved is a fallacy. It is a lie from the pit of hell. It is a false truth. A believer in Christ Jesus can lose his salvation if he does not pursue after the holiness of Jesus Christ (Meditate on Romans 8:1-2).  We must work out our salvation by submitting our will to the will of God (See Philippians 2:12-13). We must renew our mind through the Word of God and build a consistent prayer life.

We belong to the kingdom of light, and in this kingdom, there is no darkness. We walk by the principles of the Word (Holy Bible). It is the Word that directs our path. This world is full of darkness. Without the Word, we cannot pursue God’s holiness. We must grow in the Spirit. We must get the right and best foundation because a weak foundation will break us.

I know there are different Christians. Read my article, "Types of Christians" for a more profound revelation. As you grow in the Spirit, you will desire holiness. It is a spiritual level. It is like the University. From level 100, you graduate to level 200, then it goes on until you reach level 400. After graduation, you can pursue your Master’s degree. We call that level, level 500, and 600. Some people pursue a doctorate (PhD) after the master's degree.

In the Spirit, we are in ranks. Some are babies, generals, kings, priests, warriors, and commanders. Your level determines your revelation, spiritual authority, anointing, desire, mantle, and power. If you hate holiness, then it means you are a baby in the Spiritual realm.

You are an amateur in the Spirit if you cannot consecrate yourself through fasting, prayer, and meditation on God’s Word. If you seek the face of God, He renews your spirit (See Isaiah 40:31). It is only matured Christians who pursue the holiness of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of Holiness lives in Christians who practice the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

This is the introduction. In the next episode, I will take you through some strategies you can employ to enable you to get the seal of holiness on your spiritual garment. Glory to God!
