How to Become a Complete Believer in Jesus Christ 1 (Perfecting Holiness)

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Grace and mercy from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Loved one in Christ Jesus, it’s a blessing writing to you on the doctrine of holiness because the real personality of God is holiness. In heaven, the cherubs always sing unto God, holy, holy, holy. Holiness is the identification mark of God, and it is our responsibility as Christians to understand the meaning of holiness.

In my previous article, I explained the concept of holiness. In this article, I will explain the strategies you can employ to enable you to receive the seal of holiness on your spiritual garment because holiness is in levels.

It depends on your heart for God, and the Church. If you love God with all your heart, body, and resource and love your neigbour as yourself, the Spirit of holiness will always work in your life. From the scriptures, Jesus Christ emphasizes that we must express unconditional love towards His creation. We must not express hypocritical love. Some people only love you because of the benefit. Such love cannot stand the storms of life.

The real love we can ever express towards our neighbours must be unconditional. Read my article, “Types of love” for more wisdom keys. We show love, we don’t only talk about love. If you only talk the love without expressing it, it is fake. Remember, we have different love.

For example, you see that someone needs help, but the person is not your friend or neighbour. How do you express love to such a person? Do whatever you can to show the person you love him or her. Expressing love does not mean you should encourage the person in his sin. Such is not love; it is destruction.

We must love the sinner and hate the sin. We have the seed of love in our hearts. Jesus Christ is love. Jesus Christ does not have love. He is the complete expression of love. Love emanates from Jesus Christ because He is the giver.

If you have a product or a service that someone needs, but the person cannot afford, and you believe that you can help the person, do it. It can be an emotional love. Speak words of encouragement to person. It can be financial help, support the person if you have the resources. It can be an abuse, use your power to help people suffering in the hands of the wicked.

If you only express love to people you love, it is incomplete. Such love will not activate the Spirit of holiness in your spirit. If you want to activate the Spirit of holiness, you must love your ignorant enemies. Pray for them. By doing so, you attain the medal of completion.

Jesus said we should do good unto them that hate us. In the natural, we may be losing. Jesus is not a fool to tell us to love our enemies. If Jesus commanded us to love our enemies, then it means that we can love them.

And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Luke 23:32-34 KJV

Jesus Christ became a human being like us. He felt hungry, tired, weary, and sorrowful. When the Romans were crucifying Him on the cross, He prayed to His Heavenly Father to forgive them because they were unaware of their actions. The reason Jesus prayed for them was that they were ignorant of their actions. Jesus Christ prayed that His Father should have mercy on them because of their ignorance.

Some enemies have sworn to kill and destroy us. We cannot pray for such enemies. We only pray for enemies ignorant of their actions as Jesus did. We can express love towards our ignorant enemies. When we express love towards our enemies, it builds our character and shapes our personality. When we love our enemies, the Holy Spirit grows His fruits into our spirit (See Galatians 5:22-23). When the Holy Spirit builds His fruits in our spirit, the Spirit of holiness begins to operate in our life.

People who are always full of strive, jealousy, discontentment, and suspicion will find it difficult to activate the Spirit of holiness because their spirit and soul will resist Him. Holiness demands the key of love to operate. 

If your environment is full of evil, jealousy, and strive, every demon gets access to the arena (See James 3:16). If your jurisdiction is full of divine love and unity, the Spirit of holiness will always feature Himself (.See Acts chapter two in the Holy Bible) If we express love in words and actions, it opens the door for the Spirit of holiness to work in our life.

Loving your enemies does not mean that you should encourage them in their wickedness. Remember Jesus Christ always rebuked the hardened religious people of his time because they blasphemed the Holy Spirit and hated him with a passion. The Pharisees and the Sadducees were enemies.

The Pharisees believed in the dead's resurrection whiles the Sadducees disbelieved in the dead's resurrection. Anytime the Pharisees and the Sadducees met Jesus Christ, they became one and opposed Jesus. They hated the doctrine of Jesus Christ. They thought Jesus Christ was coming to destroy the law of Moses and establish a military kingdom on earth.

Most of them never believed Jesus Christ as the Messiah because of their hardened heart, but Jesus had mercy on the ignorant ones. Sometimes people fight us out of ignorance. We must break them by expressing the love of God (See Proverbs 25:21). When we show love towards our enemies, it changes them. It is only the demon-possessed and sworn enemies who never repent despite our love towards them.

When we express the unconditional love of Jesus Christ, we enter the arena of Jesus. When we enter the stage of Jesus Christ, the Spirit of holiness builds in our Spirit. Question any believer who claims to live in the holiness of Jesus Christ but never expresses love. Such holiness is a pharisee type.

We see the holiness of Jesus Christ, through love. Jesus said, if we want to be complete, we must express the agape (divine and unconditional), love. Don’t wait for the person to repent before you love the person. If you express your love because of good character., it is not real. Love people unconditionally and correct them in love.

Jesus Christ died for us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). Jesus loved us despite our sin and wickedness. Jesus died painfully. They spat on Him, mocked, and whipped him with metals because of love. The Romans knew how to punish, so they brutally crucified Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ had the power to call on a legion of angels to strike the Romans, but He never did that because Jesus knew they were ignorant of their actions. The Romans, Pharisees, Scribes, Sadducees, and the Unbelievers were fulfilling scriptures. 

It is time we express love towards our ignorant enemies and pray for them because some of them are fulfilling scriptures (the prophecy). When we show the unconditional love of God, the Holy Spirit will clothe us with the garment of holiness.
