My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they
follow me:
John 10:27 KJV
Loved one in Christ
Jesus, it’s a great pleasure writing to you. This is episode two of my
teachings on hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit. Connect with my teachings on
youtube for a more profound revelation.
In episode one, I
explained that to activate the voice of the Holy Spirit in your spirit, soul, and body, you must be born again. In this article, I will share with you the
concept of the spirit, soul, and body. Get my book, “How to Walk and Live in the Spirit,” for a more profound revelation.
If you understand the
concept of the human spirit, soul, and body, you will not find it difficult to
connect with God’s voice. First, our spirit (human spirit) differs from the
Holy Spirit (See Romans 8:16). When God breathed into the nostrils of the
lifeless body and soul of Adam, his soul came to life (See Genesis 1:26; 2:7).
God is a Spirit. He
speaks to our spirit because the Holy Spirit created our spirit. Jesus Christ
created our body, and the Heavenly Father created our soul (Meditate on Genesis
2:7. Our spirit transfers the information to our soul. If you don’t renew your
soul in God’s Word, he can reject and misinterpret the voice of the Holy Spirit.
This is one reason you must renew your soul with God’s Word (Meditate on 1 Peter 2:2). When you renew
your soul and rekindle your spirit with God’s Word, it is easy to discern the
voice of the Holy Spirit. Get my books, “How to Train the Human spirit”
and “How to Grow in the Realms of the Spirit” for a more profound
revelation.
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD,
searching all the inward parts of the belly.
Proverbs
20:27 KJV
Our spirit is the candle
of the Lord. God searches our soul (conscience, intellect, emotions, desires
and will power) through our spirit. Without our spirit, the Holy Spirit cannot
assess our soul. For example, without light, we cannot see with our eyes. Although
we have other senses that can help us see and understand. The eye is the only organ of the body that can
see clearly. The light opens the portal for us to see irrespective of the
barriers.
The sun allows us to see in the day. The moon and some
electric lights allow us to see in the night. Without light, we cannot see
with our eyes. The same principle applies to our spirit. Without our spirit, the
Holy Spirit cannot analyze our soul (conscience, emotions, desires, will power
and intellect).
God thought whatever He
created was good, not knowing that human beings had wickedness in their heart.
Note, God knows everything (omniscient), but He decided not to know what was in
the heart of humankind. God knew Lucifer would oppose him, but He chose not to
know.
This is one reason God
regretted of creating human beings when they became wicked in the time of Noah
(See Genesis 6:1-7). God decided to destroy the race of humankind, but He found
grace in the heart of Noah. God did not know what was in our heart until He
breathed His Spirit in us. The breath (Holy Spirit) of God created our spirit
and resurrected our soul.
The breath of God gave
life to our soul. The breath of God opens the portal for the Trinity to analyze our soul.
When God was creating Adam and Eve, He never thought we could be that wicked
because He did not know what was hidden our soul. When God breathed life into
us, He became conscious of us. He understood our thoughts.
Get my book for a more
profound revelation. I will share with you three levels the Holy
Spirit reveals Himself unto us. The Holy Spirit can reveal Himself unto us
through revelation. Revelation is a divine secret God opens unto our spirit as
we fellowship with Him. God can reveal mysteries to us when drawing closer to
Him. God can reveal secrets to us through His Word.
The Holy Spirit can
reveal Himself to us through illumination. He brings to light the secrets of the Spiritual
world. He explains into detail what the carnal mind cannot reveal. God can use
His angels to reveal secrets unto us. The Holy Spirit can reveal Himself unto
us through the inspirational atmosphere, teachings, and videos. He motivates
and sharpens us to become stronger by building us with profound truths and
wisdom.
I will share with you five
keys that hinder us not hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. Knowing the things
that limit you not to hear God’s voice will help you repent and position yourself
in God’s path.
1. Sin
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither
his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your
sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
Isaiah 59:1-3 KJV
Sin creates a limitation
between God and us. One reason you cannot connect with the voice of God is
because of sin. Consistently sinning establishes a barrier between you and the Holy
Spirit. The Holy Spirit cannot live in a sinful jurisdiction. He cannot abide
in a sinful vessel.
If you want to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, depart
from sin because sin will corrupt your conscience and make us irresponsive to the
voice of God. Get my book “Spiritual Keys for Life” for a more profound
revelation on sin.
2. Carnality
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the
Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV
If you allow the desires
of the flesh (See Galatians 5:19-21) to dominate you, you suppress the voice of
the Holy Spirit. If you walk in the Spirit, you will not fulfil the desires of
the flesh. Overeating and excessive ungodly activities can desensitize your
spiritual senses. We know that every human being has five senses (smell, touch,
feel, see and taste). These senses (nose, ears, mouth, hands and tongue) help us connect with the world.
Our spirit also has
senses (discernment, faith, love, perception, vision, trance, revelation, power,
and wisdom). These spiritual senses help us connect with the spiritual world. If you
always feed your flesh, it will dominate the desires of the Spirit.
When your flesh dominates
your spiritual senses, it is difficult to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.
The same applies to our spirit. If you always feed your spirit with the Word,
your spirit will dominate the desire of the flesh and the soul. Get my series
of books for more profound revelation.
These books will transform your soul,
rekindle your spirit, and help you connect with the Holy Spirit.
3. No Prayer and fasting life.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation:
the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Matthew 26:41 KJV
Prayer is one of the
greatest weapons of every believer. Our spirit always desires to pray, but the
desires of our flesh limit us. Our flesh can become our enemy if we don’t
discipline it. The best way to discipline the flesh is to fast (Meditate on 1 Corinthians 9:27).
If you don’t build fasting
and prayer life, your spirit will be inactive to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Prayerless Christians are powerless people in the Spirit. If you don’t build a
prayer life, you will become a legalistic, carnal, soulish and religious
Christian. Read my article "Types of Christians" for a more profound revelation.
The enemy will trample on
you if you don’t build a consistent prayer life. A prayerless Christian is
a potential prey for the devil. If you don’t pray, the evil spirits will always
attack your spiritual senses and make you irresponsive to the voice of the Holy
Spirit. Get my series of books on the enemies for a more profound revelation.
There are some evil
spirits they will never submit until you fast. Failure to fast will make your
spiritual antenna irresponsive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. When this happens,
you will not discern the voice of the Holy Spirit.
4. Bitterness
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun
go down upon your wrath:
Ephesians 4:26 KJV
Bitterness is a
great weapon of the enemy. Unforgiveness generates bitterness. Bitterness
creates great darkness in your spirit and soul. It makes you cynical and
invites evil spirits to your jurisdiction.
When you are bitter, you
always reject the voice of the Holy Spirit. I know sometimes it is difficult to
forgive people who intentionally hurt us. For the sake of your salvation and
the command of Jesus Christ, forgive them and leave the rest to God (See Mark
11:25-26). Get my book "Spiritual Seeds for Growth." I have exposed some keys you use to break spirit of unforgiveness.
Vengeance belongs to God;
He shall repay those who hurt you (See Romans 12:19). Don’t allow bitterness to
corrupt your spiritual senses. Release your pain to God through prayers. God
will fight for you. God is righteous in all
His ways (Psalm 7:11). Whatever the enemy has sown in your life, they will reap
it.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a
man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Galatians 6:7 KJV
Don’t be bitter because
it will break you and make your spirit irresponsive to God’s voice.
5. Equal yoke with
unbelievers
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion
hath light with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:14 KJV
The Bible says that we
must not equally yoke with unbelievers because they disagree with the laws
(Holy Bible) of the kingdom. The scriptures never said we shouldn’t befriend
them. If we don't befriend them, how can we preach to them? Apostle Paul said we should not be on the same level as the unbelievers.
For example, when they
are watching ungodly movies, and they tell you to join them, don’t join them. If
they are going to night clubs and they invite you to accompany them, reject the
invitation.
You cannot always agree
with the terms and conditions of unbelievers because they oppose the leadership
of the Holy Spirit. They can corrupt your respectful manners. They will make
you immoral if you always agree with them. The unbelievers resist the Holy
Spirit.
If you don’t apply wisdom
when you are with them, they can make you resist the Holy Spirit. When this
happens, you cannot discern the voice of the Holy Spirit. Come out among them
if you want to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. Meditate on these scriptures.
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good
manners.
1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the
counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the
seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and
in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of
water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not
wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3 KJV
