Matthew 8:23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
Matthew 8:24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
Matthew 8:25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
Matthew 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Matthew 8:27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
You cannot use your phone without the phone's battery because the battery supplies life to the phone. When the battery goes off, the phone goes off. The human body cannot survive without food and water for some months because God made food and water to make the body survive; therefore, food and water supplies life to the body.
Our eyes cannot see clearly without light rays because that is how God made it. Animals cannot reproduce until procreation takes place. We need heat to cook our food. We need water to enable us to dissolve substances. Some vehicles cannot move without engines because the life of the car rests in the engine.
The same principle applies to the Word. Whatever God created response to the Word because the Word created all things (See Hebrews 11:3). Whatever the scientist discovered was already discovered by God (See Ecclesiastes 1:9-10). The visible things came out from the Word; Therefore, the life of the visible things rest in the Word (See Genesis chapter one in the Holy Scriptures).
For example, the manufacturers of Samsung products can repair every Samsung phone irrespective of the damage the phone received. They know every detail about the phone because they created it. The same principle applies to the Word. The Word created the sea, animals, trees, fishes, and all visible things when God spoke the Word. This means that every living thing must respond to the Word if we talk and decree the Word.
By the grace of God, the Heavenly Father has given the Word to us in a written form, and the Word abides in our spirit (See 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Jeremiah 31:31-33). It is our responsibility as Christians to speak out the Word to enable the Word function. Until we speak the Word, nothing happens.
In the above scriptures, we saw Jesus Christ rebuked the winds and the sea. The Word (Jesus Christ) spoke the Word before the Word operated. Jesus Christ was commanding the sea and the wind to keep silent because He created the sea and the wind when God spoke the Word in the beginning.
Jesus Christ has delegated His power to us (See Luke 10:19). It is our responsibility to speak the Word. The wind in the context of this scripture is the fear of life. The sea represents the arrows of the enemy. Anytime the devil sends forth the demon of fear to torment your life, speak out the Word! When life seems unbearable and hopeless, speak out the Word! Because the wind and the sea in your life must submit to the Word when the Word is spoken. When someone curses you, speak the Word because the Word is higher than every curse.
- When Jesus Christ rebuked the wind and the sea, there was a great calm.
- Rebuke any failure in your life by declaring the Word!
- Forbid any attack of the enemy in your life by declaring the Word!
- Reject any sickness in your body by declaring the Word!
- Refuse every oppression of the enemy by the declaration of the Word!
- Don’t allow the curses of anyone to dominate your spirit and soul because the Word is your weapon, and it is above every curse!
- Breakthrough the cultural limitation by the Word!
- Refuse to be limited by the enemy because the Word is your weapon!
- Oppose every invisible enemy by declaring the Word!
- Don’t allow your sworn enemies to take your life prematurely because the Word is your weapon!
- Be strong and courageous by declaring the Word!
- Challenge every enemy that tries to challenge your faith in Jesus Christ by the Word!
