Can I pretend forever? (COME AS YOU ARE)

Come clean before the Holy Spirit

I felt like writing this article while listening to one of Theophilus Sunday’s heart cries (song). No hiding (Can I pretend forever)? We can pretend before family members, friends, enemies, and the public.

We can even pretend to ourselves. In other words, we can deceive ourselves consciously and unconsciously. However, we cannot pretend before God (Yahweh). The words within the song (heart cry) of Theophilus Sunday are so deep that they can move you to repent from every sin and follow the Holy Spirit with all your heart. You might be a master trickster. You can fake wealth, happiness, peace, and joy. However, you cannot pretend before the Holy Spirit. David made this powerful statement.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

Psalm 139:7-8 KJV

We cannot hide from the presence of God (the Holy Spirit). We can make our house under the earth, in the ocean, and in the heavens. However, we cannot hide from the Holy Spirit. You might have deceived people for a long time.

It’s time to repent. Take the deceptive covering (veil) and come as you are. Humankind can help you. However, humankind is limited. God’s blessings endure forever. Stop pretending because you cannot please everyone.

It is better to be right with God than with men. Humankind can help you reach a certain limit. However, God has the final say (meditate on Lamentations 3:37, Proverbs 19:21). Spiritual leaders such as pastors often give good names to corpses at funerals to cover shame.

Family members and friends try to paint a good picture of their dead relative at the funeral. However, that dead vessel lived an evil life. I do not want that picture because it saddens the Holy Spirit.

Why would we want humankind to see us as good people? However, in the sight of God, we are wicked. Like the graveyard, the tomb looks beautiful. However, within the furnished tomb lies a smelly body (bones) full of worms.

That is how some people are. They act as holy angels. However, they are serpents, wolves, and scorpions (meditate on Matthew 23:25-28). I try my best to be who I am. I prefer to be hated, rejected, and despised by men and loved by Christ Jesus than to be loved by humankind and hated by the Holy Spirit. Deepen your relationship with the Heavenly Father, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help you. It’s time to come to God as you are because He knows you.

Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?

Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 23:23-24 KJV

We cannot see the air (wind). However, we feel it. That’s one of the nearest examples to describe the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit fills the earth and the Heavens. You might think you are “smart.”

You might think you are the “wisest” person in the world. However, the Holy Spirit sees your flaws. He sees your nakedness. People might call you a champion. However, you are miserable in God’s eyes (meditate on Revelation 3:17). God knows everything about us.

Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Jeremiah 1:4-5 KJV

God declared that before Jeremiah came to the world, He knew him in his mother’s womb. How can we hide from a vessel that knew us before we were formed in our mother’s womb? Let me use this weak analogy to explain the omniscience of God.

The manufacturers of Apple products know everything about their products. You might think you are more intelligent than the Apple company because you know how to unlock their products. You might even deceive yourself by saying that you know some functions of Apple products that Apple manufacturers do not know.

That’s deception because Apple manufacturers programmed the product. They know everything about their product. You only discovered something about their product. That is how some people live. They think they know everything.

They think they know something that nobody knows. However, the Holy Spirit knows everything. You might think you have the greatest water reserve, with a thousand liters. However, no instrument in this world can measure the water (wisdom) of the Holy Spirit.

We cannot hide anything from the Holy Spirit because He sees and knows the secret. Jonah tried to hide from God because He didn’t want to fulfill the divine assignment. He tried escaping with a ship.

However, God exposed him. Ananias and his wife Sapphira thought they could deceive the Holy Spirit. They lied to God’s servant, not knowing they were deceiving the Holy Spirit. They died because of their deception. You may have deceived your family and friends. You might have even deceived your spiritual leader. However, you cannot deceive the Holy Spirit. You cannot pretend before the Holy Spirit.

I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Jeremiah 17:10 KJV

Some people have created applications (software) to detect deception and genuineness. Some people have studied psychology to know humankind and animals. Some people have developed artificial intelligence machines to do things humankind finds challenging to do.

Some of these machines can examine our work. However, the robots are not always accurate. The only one that knows our hearts is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Bible states that God searches our hearts (meditate on Psalm 44:21; 139:23).

People can judge by our actions and words. However, they cannot know what is in our hearts. The Holy Spirit can help you discern people’s hearts if He knows you and you know Him. God searches our souls.

He knows the deep things within our hearts. The Holy Spirit knows our motives. He knows whether we love Him, the Church, and the creation. The Holy Spirit will not anoint anyone like that.

He searches the heart of the vessel. This is one reason you must be careful when criticizing a genuine servant of God. The Holy Spirit knows why He called, chose, and anointed the vessel you are destroying with your words and actions.

You are not the right person to judge the servant of God. God knows the hearts of his servants. He knows their strength and weakness. The Holy Spirit knows something about the vessel He is using. Do not play the role of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit knows everything about the vessel He is using, so keep silent and pray for the vessel.

And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Genesis 18:17-19 KJV

God knew Abraham. God knew He could not hide anything from Abraham. The Lord knew Abraham would command his children and household to walk in the path of light. What are you hiding from God? Do you think you can outsmart the Holy Spirit? Repent!

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Proverbs 15:3 KJV

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Romans 2:16 KJV

What are you hiding from the Holy Spirit? Your family, friends, and enemies might be ignorant of your evil deeds. They might be ignorant of your secret wealth. However, the eyes of God are everywhere.

God sees evil and good. Apostle Paul stated in Romans chapter two, verse sixteen, that God shall judge our secrets according to his gospel. Everything is naked in God’s sight! Like a mother, she knows the nakedness of her children.

Our parents know our nakedness. You can try to hide your nakedness in your youthful stage. However, your parents saw your nakedness when you were young. Your parents bathed you. They knew everything about you when you were young.

We came from God, so He knows our nakedness. You can cover your wealth, assets, and evil. In a secret bank, you can hide the country’s gold, diamond, oil, natural resources, and funds. However, they are naked in the sight of the Holy Spirit.

The sad news is that you will die and leave those resources and funds. Strangers will mismanage and enjoy that wealth! People have designed robots that monitor our activities online. These artificial intelligence machines have qualitative and quantitative data (information) about you.

This is one reason advertising companies can project a product and service you will likely buy. The robots in the cloud have adequate data about you. The people who created the robots can sell the data to companies who need them.

These artificial intelligence machines know whether you are married or not. They know your profession. They know your country. These artificial intelligence machines know the city or village you live in.

They know your favorite books, music, videos, and food. They know your parents, friends, and your place of work. The robots can assess your financial status. They know your tribe. These machines know almost everything about you because they learn every day. If human beings can design a robot (artificial intelligence machine) that can describe you, what do you think about the Creator of the Universe (Christ Jesus)?

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Hebrews 4:13 KJV

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

Proverbs 5:21 KJV

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

2 Chronicles 16:9 KJV

What again can we hide from the Holy Spirit? I have realized that I cannot hide anything from the Holy Spirit. I see myself as nothing whenever I appear before the Holy Spirit in my chambers.

I lie on the ground like a madman in my chambers. I see myself as nothing in God’s sight because He knows me more than I know myself. I accept if the Holy Spirit tells me I am greedy for money. If the Holy Spirit tells me I am proud, I accept it.

When the Holy Spirit reveals that I am disobedient, I accept and ask for forgiveness because the Holy Spirit knows me much more than I know myself. I might see myself as somebody. However, if the Holy Spirit sees me as nobody, I see myself as nobody.

I count myself as an empty vessel that cannot do anything without the help of the Holy Spirit. I pray to God to help me. I pray to the Heavenly Father to help me love Him. I pray to God to help me discover myself.

I ask the Holy Spirit to help me love Him. I pray to God to take away pride, anger, and anything that does not glorify Him. I love playing gospel songs while asleep. Sometimes, I see myself crying in my heart while asleep while the Christian music is playing.

I feel the Holy Spirit is working on my heart while sleeping. My body might be unresponsive while asleep. However, my soul and spirit are active while asleep. I don’t see myself as a perfect creature.

I admit that I need the help of the Holy Spirit. I make mistakes. I know that I don’t know myself. I know the only one who knows me is the Holy Spirit. This is one reason I learn every day. I want to become like Christ Jesus.

I want to know more about the God I cannot see physically with my eyes daily. I want to experience the God I cannot touch with my hands daily. I want to know the God who created humankind, the animals, oceans, trees, the earth, the heavens, the spiritual world, and all things that walk on the planet.

I want to understand God. I want to know the mind of God. I want to know who He is. I want to know Him as He is. I want the Holy Spirit to help me overcome every weakness. I know I can die within microseconds if the Holy Spirit leaves me.

I know I have many enemies; therefore, I pray that the Holy Spirit shelters me. I try my best to walk and live with the Holy Spirit. I pray that the Holy Spirit will perfect everything that concerns me.

I pray that the Holy Spirit shapes me. I pray that the Holy Spirit delivers me from every unclean spirit. I pray that the Holy Spirit feels my empty heart. I pray that the Holy Spirit does not leave me.

I pray that the Holy Spirit gives me a heart that will follow him. I pray that the Holy Spirit empowers me to finish my course. I pray that the Holy Spirit empties me and fills me with Himself.

I pray that the Holy Spirit helps me understand Him. I pray that the Holy Spirit increases my faith to fulfill my calling. I pray that the Holy Spirit delivers me from human wickedness. I pray that the Holy Spirit helps humankind and animals because we are helpless without Him.

I cannot hide anything from the Holy Spirit in my chambers. My heart desire is to know the Holy Spirit. I want to experience Christ Jesus. I cannot do anything without God. I may pretend in public that I am fine.

However, when I enter my closet, I see my nakedness. I see my emptiness. I see my weakness. I see my wretchedness. I see my limitations. I see my pride. I see my pain. I see my powerlessness.

I see my vulnerabilities. I see that I am nothing. I see my uselessness. I see my incompleteness. I am nothing without Christ Jesus. I am nothing with the Holy Spirit! I am nobody without the help of God.

I cannot walk, talk, eat, and fight without the assistance of the Holy Spirit. I cannot express myself without the power of the Holy Spirit. I will die and perish without the Holy Spirit. My enemies will break me into pieces without the help of the Holy Spirit.

I cannot pretend in God’s presence in my closet. God knows me more than anyone. Therefore, if you want to know me, please ask the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit knows me much more than my parents, siblings, and friends know me.

The Holy Spirit knows me much more than I know myself. I think I don’t know the real me. I discover myself daily in my closet. What do I have that the Holy Spirit does not know? What evil can I hide from the Holy Spirit?

What is man? Who am I? What can I accomplish without the assistance of the Holy Spirit? My help, peace, and joy come from the Holy Spirit. I am nothing without the Holy Spirit! Without the Holy Spirit, a dead dog is better than me!

I am as weak and helpless as a corpse without the Holy Spirit. I am blind, dumb, and deaf without the Holy Spirit. I am helpless and destructible in the presence of my enemies without the Holy Spirit.

Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

Job 31:4 KJV

For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.

There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

Job 34:21-22 KJV

What can we hide from the presence of the Holy Spirit? What can we boost that the Holy Spirit does not have? What do we know that the Holy Spirit does not know? What are we fighting for?

What are we searching for? What are we running after? What are we killing ourselves for? Why do you pride yourself on your little life? What can you do with this little life? What do you have?

Naked, we came into this world. How helpless we are! Come to the Holy Spirit as you are because He knows you. If there is another word to replace “know,” I will use that word. The Holy Spirit knows our steps.

He counts every step we make. God knows the number of hairs on our heads (see Luke 12:7). In the deep darkness, the Holy Spirit sees everything. Within the closed (locked) doors, He sees everything.

In the office, the Holy Spirit sees everything. What can we hide from the Holy Spirit? He knows our motives. The Holy Spirit sees the end from the beginning. What again can we hide from the Holy Spirit?

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

1 Corinthians 4:5 KJV

As the singer states, “No more pretending, no more faking it. Come as you are.” My heart desires the Holy Spirit. I will dine with Christ Jesus (the Holy Spirit) one day. What about you? I encourage you to download and read my series of books on theHoly Spirit for more profound revelations. The books are free on my blog. Kindly share the link to this article to save a life.

This is Theophilus Sunday’s song (heart cry) that inspired me to write this article.
