The Rewards on the Road to the Celestial City (9)

 

Loved one in Christ Jesus, I believe you are growing in the strength of the Lord. The grace, mercies, favour, and power of God are increasing daily in our lives as we climb the ladder of God.

God and His angels are working miracles behind the scenes in his children's lives, and I believe you are part of God’s chosen vessels. Don’t give up or exclude yourself from the kingdom labourers because your reward in the celestial city is great.

Christianity can sometimes become burdensome when the people you expect to encourage, support, and push you forward are the ones limiting your progress. As I am growing in the Lord, I realize that Christian ministers (Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Evangelist, teachers, and workers in the vineyard) are the greatest enemy in God’s kingdom.

I now understand why Jesus Christ always rebuked and avoided most of the religious people of His time. It was the religious people that influenced Judas Iscariot with money to betray our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The same religious people condemned and falsely accused Jesus Christ in the Romans and unbelievers' sight. Sometimes it is better to be with few trusted Christian believers or alone than to be with jealous and wicked "Christian believers."

Wholly relying on the words of others can discourage and make you backslide in your Christian life. Build your faith in God’s Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit because that is the best way to stand the mockery, slander, insults, jealousy, discouragement, and crooked arrows of the world and some “Christians.”

Jealousy is infiltrating the house of God to the extent that some ministers of “God” provoke other Christian ministers when they begin to make exploit in the kingdom of God. Instead of praying, helping, and advising young ministers, they will instead oppose and issue curses. This is one reason most young men and women don’t want to enter into the ministry of God.

Sometimes I have to fast and pray because some declarations have been made into the atmosphere to limit the growth of God’s work in our lives. There are some King Saul’s in our lives. These jealous kings (Saul’s) hate the young ministers (David’s) among them. Christians must stop fighting each other and team up as a family because the enemy is within the church!

The Holy Spirit always reveals all the plans of the enemy to me so that I can position myself well in the path of God for my life. I am writing from my little experience. I wonder how people can frame lies, stories, and false information to tame other Christian ministers' reputations.

Sometimes I ask myself how a minister of God opposes other ministers of God. Meanwhile, the Holy Spirit will never bring confusion into the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit is not the author of confusion. It is time for Christian believers to realize that we are a family (Meditate on Romans 12:4-5, 1 Corinthians 12:12-25).

We are heading towards the same destination. Why should you fight the brethren in the same faith? Is it hypocrisy, jealousy, or the influence of evil spirits? As Christians, we are united in the blood of Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit. If you fight another genuine minister of God, then it is the evil spirits using you to stop the progress of God's kingdom on earth.

Our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ declared that a kingdom divided among itself cannot stand (See Matthew 12:25). If Christians fight each other, we will be weak and vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy. Fighting ourselves empowers the devil and his cohorts to rule over us.

It is time we join as a family and build God’s kingdom on earth. Some people may look down on you or think you are inferior because of your leniency, sacrifice, and love. Don’t allow their mockery, insults, gossip, and slander to destroy your calling and rewards; the holy angels are preparing for you.

Fight the good fight of faith. There are some battles you must not fight because it is a foolish fight. The best weapon for you as a Christian believer is the weapon of fasting and prayer. If you can fast and pray for three hours, do it from your heart.

If you can fast and pray for six hours, do it from your heart. Fast and pray as led by the Holy Spirit. Fasting and prayer are one of the best antidotes to break the arrows of the devil. Some people may have perceived you as a liar, thief, fornicator, proud, or disrespectful.

After all, they are not your judges. The most important thing is to please God. If your heart is pure before God, be assured that your salvation is secured. Give respect to dignitaries and those in authority but don’t allow them to abuse the authority of God’s Word.

The Word of God is the final Judge, so always stand by the Word. Some leaders abuse power and authority because of insecurity, pride, carnality, ignorance, and greediness. We cannot submit to wicked and abusive leadership; the Word of God must stand.

As far as the leader is in line with God’s Word, and his counsels aggress with the holy scriptures, it is your responsibility to submit to the leadership. God is working miraculously in these last days. Avail yourself as a living sacrifice, and the Holy Spirit will use you to do mighty works in His house

In this article, I will briefly share some counsels Jesus Christ gave to the people on the mountain.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:19-21 KJV

Jesus Christ declares that we should not labour for the things that perish but for eternal things. Be clear with the words of Jesus. Jesus the Christ is not saying that we should not build important things to help facilitate our life on earth.

Jesus is saying that we should not labour all our lives for the things of this world. Some people hardly rest because of the pressure of this world. The pride of life, the lust of the eyes, and the flesh have dominated some people to the extent that they hate God's kingdom. Some people work all their life to possess worldly things and ignore the things of God.

I remember on my way to church early in the morning; I saw a group of people campaigning for a political party. It was Sunday morning and looking at the numerous people; I could detect that over ninety-eight percent (98%) of the people campaigning for the political party were Christians.

These people were happily campaigning for a political party instead of attending church services. Campaigning for a political party is not bad, but it shouldn’t be on Sunday morning! We cannot substitute God’s time for worldly activities.

Most people will never sacrifice their time to campaign (evangelize) for Jesus Christ, but they sacrifice their time, energy, and resources when it comes to things of the world.

It looks like people become angry and discouraged when it comes to the things of God. I know some people react in this way because of the behaviour of some Christian leaders. Corruption occurs in most churches, and it is our responsibility as Christian leaders to repent from such behaviour.

Jesus said thieves could break into the treasures we labour all our lives on this earth. Haven’t you heard of arm robbers breaking into banks, houses, markets, churches, and institutions to rob them? Haven't you seen natural disasters, insects, and other destructible animals destroying the properties of others? 

This should let you understand that the things of this world have an expiry date. All the treasures (airplanes, trains, cars, mansions, and essential things) on this earth will perish one day. A time is coming; we will depart from this earth. No corpse will take his earthly treasures with him into the grave. If you are a wise person, you will invest more in the things of God.

Some people invest their life savings into politics, business, and other earthly projects and sow a peanut into the church projects. Repent because it saddens the Holy Spirit. This doesn't mean we shouldn't build important projects; we must build them. 

We must not reject the things of God or wholly sacrifice all our lives on the worldly things and ignore God's kingdom because the treasures in the Celestial City will last forever! 

Jesus said, “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:” If Jesus is commanding us to lay up wealth in His kingdom, then we must be concern about the church and labourers in God’s kingdom.

Sow seeds into the kingdom of God. A seed can be in the form of money, business, connections, wisdom, gifts, potentials, self (living sacrifice unto God), and acquired properties. When you sow seeds in the kingdom of God, you lay treasures in the Celestial City.

The angels of God will use your seeds as materials to build your mansion in the Celestial City. Do you want to know why the world is advancing than the church? It is because the unbelievers contribute, support, and sow their precious wealth in the things of the world.

Most Christians spend a lot on themselves, families, and businesses and sow little in the house of God. Let us unite as one family and build the kingdom of God. Without the seed, the gospel may not go far. Sacrifice your treasures to build God’s kingdom on earth, and you will reap it on the Celestial City. Glory to God!
