The Adventures on the Road to the Celestial City (7)

 

Loved one in Christ Jesus, I believe you are growing in the strength of the Lord. As we wait for our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ in these last days, let us put on the whole armour of God because the devil is not a respecter of persons.

We must be vigilant in these last days because the devil has blinded many Christians with the invisible sin (pride, jealousy, lust, ungodly anger, hatred…). Many Christians are not aware of the sin of the heart.

This is a great mistake because you might think you are saved, but on the judgment day, Jesus Christ will say to you, depart from me (Meditate on 7:21-23). Attending church services does not mean Jesus Christ has recorded your name in the book of life.

The fact that we are justified by faith and by the blood of Jesus Christ does not mean we can live anyhow. Salvation is a process. You can be a Christian and lose heaven because you did not work on your salvation.

The first stage of salvation is when you acknowledge you are a sinner and that you need Jesus Christ (Meditate on Romans 3:23; 6:23, John 3:16). Confessing Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord of your life is the first step. Jesus is not only our Savior; He is also our Lord. After confessing Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord of your life, you move to the ladder of sanctification by working out your salvation (Meditate on Philippians 2:12-13). We work our salvation by submitting our will to the will of God. We follow the principles of the Word because the Word (Holy Bible) is the kingdom constitution.

Any Christian who disregards the Word of God becomes a carnal and soulish (Nominal) Christian. The Word is our guide. Without the Word, we cannot walk in the ways of the Holy Spirit. Without the Word, we are lost in the wilderness (Meditate on Psalm 119:105). It is the Word of God that breaks the sinful nature of our soul. The Word has the inherent power to build us in the image and likeness of God.

It is through the Word that we conform to the likeness of the Trinity (the Heavenly Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit). When we value the Word above every man’s word, we open the portal for the Holy Spirit to lead us in our spiritual life.

The Word can only work in our lives when we become one with it in our soul, spirit, and body (Meditate on John 15:7). Confessing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior does not mean we are saved forever. We have a role to play.

If you don’t build your soul with the Word, you will always produce the seeds of the flesh (Meditate on Galatians 5:19-21). This is one reason; we have many church buildings with a lot of sinners.

The root cause of the problem is the Christian ministers. Most Christian ministers are not prayerful. Most of these ministers do not sacrifice their time to feed on the Word (Holy Bible) and inspiring Christian books. If Christian ministers preach and teach the truth without partiality, the Holy Spirit will dominate the souls of Christians.

We must continue to abide in Jesus Christ as we fellowship with the Holy Spirit and feed on the Word.  Failure to build your soul with the Word opens the portal for carnal Christians, unbelievers, and demons to manipulate you.

When you have the Word of God in your spirit and soul, you will always triumph over the traps of the enemy. When you are watchful and prayerful, you will never fall into the traps of the enemy. The Word is one of the greatest spiritual weapons of Christians. Without the Word of God, we lose the battle in the spiritual realm. The devil does not fear your anointing. The devil fears the Word of God engrafted in your spirit.

If you are full of God’s Word, the devil, and his minions will think twice before they issue their attack on you. If you want to live a successful Christian life, let the Word be your guide. Don’t condemn people you don’t know, especially ministers of God. Always compare the sermons and counseling you receive with the Word of God.

Use your spiritual antenna (fruits of the Holy Spirit) to judge the truth. God has stored the Spirit of the Word in our spirit. One sign to discern whether you are alive in the Spirit is when you feel touched when you hear a spiritual song or the Word of God.

When you notice that the things of the Spirit or the Word of God do not make an impact in your life, your spiritual antenna is weak. Revive your spirit with fasting and prayers or get my book, How to Train the Human spirit for a more profound revelation.

Let me expand some lessons the Holy Spirit wants me to share with you.

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Luke 12:51-53 KJV

These are the words of Jesus Christ to His disciples. Jesus makes us understand that there will come a time in our Christian life; the Holy Spirit will cause division. Children will disagree with their parents at a certain stage of their lives.

There are some divisions God endorses because Jesus Christ declared in the holy scripture. Some divisions emanate from disobedience. Build your spirit to discern the divisions that come your way. There are seasons we must find out God’s will for our lives.

There are times we have to apply holy anger because the demons and some unbelievers will never agree with us. Jesus said He did not come to bring peace but division.

Jesus is not promoting war as some religious bodies and unbelievers interpret. Jesus is talking about spiritual warfare and tribulations. There are times; we have to fight on our knees and resist the ungodly laws of the unbelievers because they contradict the Kingdom laws (Holy Bible).

There will come a time in our life family members will become a stumbling block. When your loved ones become a stumbling block to your salvation, the best way is to separate. I have listened to several testimonies of Muslim converts.

Most of these Muslim converts became enemies to their families because of Jesus Christ. Here, the only way out for these new converts is division. They must depart from their family house because they cannot serve in the church in such an environment.

He was a Muslim Imam who became a Christian. There are a lot of lessons in his testimony. You can also listen to these powerful testimonies. We must value the teachings and prophecies of Jesus Christ because they are life to our soul and spirit.

Jesus said, “Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division! For from now on, there will be five in one household divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” (NET Bible)

I remember I talked with an old minister of God I met at a church conference. The Holy Spirit opened my spiritual eyes, and I saw what was happening in his family. The minister of God confirmed my prophecies were true. He even asked me how I could see his private matters. I smiled and told him it is the working of the Holy Spirit.

This anointed man of God had his ministry, but his family attacked him. Because of the attack, he has to depart from his family house with his wife and children. The last time he invited me to his ministry, I could not believe my eyes. Only seven people were in his church.

Among the seven, three of them were his children, his wife, and a young man. I could discern in the Spirit that the minister of God was anointed, but his family has rejected him physically and attacked him spiritually. He has been in the ministry for three years. The rejection affected the minister and his ministry to the extent of destroying the ministry God has given him.

Child of God, that is how the devil works. There will come a time; your family will neglect and oppose you because you followed Jesus Christ. It is part of the suffering. I have read and learned from the experience of anointed ministers of God and how they suffered in the ministry.

Don’t be surprised when your family members become your enemies because Jesus declared it in the holy scriptures. Jesus said, the father shall be divided against the son, and the daughter shall be divided against the mother, the mother in law shall be divided against the daughter in law. The list goes on. 

Expect opposition from family members and your community because it is part of the prices we pay as disciples of Jesus Christ. It is not everybody that is matured in the Lord. Some of your loved ones will fight you out of ignorance. Others will fight you intentionally. Some will fight you because the devil is using them.

Intercede for them. When you see that your prayers are not making an impact, let the words of Jesus Christ come to pass. Apply the key of division because that is the only way to your salvation. If you agree to stay with your loved ones and deny Jesus Christ, you have eliminated yourself from God’s kingdom.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

Matthew 10:34-38 KJV

• Be ready for rejection.
• Be ready for opposition.
• Be ready for division.
• Be ready for persecutions.
• Be ready for hardship.

Stand your ground. Don’t give up because Jesus Christ will never forsake you. Jesus Christ will only allow us to pass through the storms we can dominate because He knows we can overcome. Glory to God!
