THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST 14 (Building an Everlasting Kingdom)

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:19-21 KJV.

Loved one in Christ Jesus, I believe you are swimming in the river of grace, mercies and divine wisdom. It’s a great pleasure writing to you on the teachings of Jesus Christ because He is our only hope. Without Jesus Christ, we are lost in the wilderness (spiritual, soulish, and earth realm). Outside Jesus Christ, any wild animal (demons, the devil and enemies) can attack us.

A sheep (Christian) without a shepherd lives at the mercies of the wolves. That is how our lives turns out to be when we become independent of Christ Jesus. Without Jesus Christ, our enemies will trample on us. The good news is, Jesus Christ will never reject us because He has promised us in His Word (See Psalm 27:10). Jesus Christ is the source of love because He is Love. It is the love of Jesus Christ that makes us relevant in life.

We receive our value from Jesus Christ. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is our only hope. If Jesus Christ rose from the grave, then it means that we will also rise when we die. Death could not hold Jesus Christ captive. Jesus Christ is the only way to the Heavenly Father. In Him, we secure our destiny. Jesus holds the entire world in His hands because He created it.

No power can subdue the power of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the source of all power and authority. Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and LORD of Lords. All kings, presidents, and leaders will bow before Him on the final day.

You should bow (humble yourself, repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord of your life) because He is the giver and the taker of life. Jesus Christ can take His breath from you. When Jesus Christ takes His breath (the life that sustains our soul and revive the spirit of man) from you, you will become a corpse. 

I hope you have seen a corpse before? You better humble yourself and serve Jesus Christ and the church because He created you. We own nothing in this world because we will leave this world empty. We were born naked, and we shall leave this world empty. 

Let's get back the precious words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In the book of Matthew, chapter six, verses nineteen to twenty-one, Jesus Christ commands us we should not lay up treasures on this earth because they are temporal. Jesus Christ made this statement because this earth is not our permanent home. 

All of us will die on the appointed time. We are stewards of God’s property and owners of nothing. God has delegated His creation (earth, animals, sea, and all living things) under our care, and it is our responsibility to take care of His creation and maximize it.

The fact that Jesus Christ said we should not lay up treasures on this earth does not mean that we should not build better roads, schools, hospitals, business and other essential projects. What Jesus Christ said was that we should not allow the things of this world to dominate our mind and forget His kingdom. Know these truths.

• Do you know that some people kill because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some family members have become enemies because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some friends have become bitter enemies because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some married couples have divorced because of temporal things?
• Do you know that organizations, institutions, and businesses have broken down because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some people are in the police's custody because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some people have died before their time because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some people are in psychiatric centres because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some people have backslidden because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some people are blindly working for the devil because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some people have deviated from their divine purpose because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some nations cannot rise because some leaders are lusting after temporal things?
• Do you know that God is angry with some Christian leaders and Christians because of the lust for temporal things?
• Do you know that evil spirits have blinded the spiritual senses of people because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some prophecies have failed because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some kings, presidents, and leaders have lost their throne because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some people have become spiritually blind (unable to discern the leadership of the Holy Spirit) because of temporal things?
• Do you know that innocent people have died because of temporal things?
• Do you know that people have lost their reputation because of temporal things?
• Do you know that people cannot receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some people have become prostitutes, womanizers, gays, lesbians, porn actors and actress because of temporal things?
• Do you know that evil spirits have possessed people because of temporal things?
• Do you know that people have become slaves in different countries because of temporal things?
• Do you know that some leaders cannot develop their country with their natural resources because of the lust of temporal things?
• Do you know that people cannot fellowship with the Holy Spirit because of temporal things?
• Do you know that people are carrying strange and incurable diseases because of temporal things?

There are many people in bondage because of temporal things. The question is, what are temporal things? I define temporal things as anything that does not glorify God or anything that has a limited life span. Anything that can depreciate in its useful state is mundane. Anything that cannot last forever is temporal.

Jesus Christ commands us we should build treasures in Heaven because people cannot break in to steal and destroy them. To invest in this everlasting treasure, you must be born again because, without the born-again experience, you cannot legally build those treasures. The blood of Jesus Christ gives you the license to produce this everlasting treasure.

You must understand that spiritual laws are governing the kingdom of God. If you want to build in this kingdom, you must be soul a winner. You must invest in winning people into the kingdom of God and help them (converts) stand firm in the Lord by visiting them occasionally and praying for them.

When a sinner responds to the Word during your evangelism, the angels of God get materials to build your kingdom. When you intercede for the new converts and encourage them in the Lord, it empowers the angels of God to get more materials for your building. Showing love and affection towards others with a sincere heart is another spiritual material that builds your kingdom.

Offerings, tithes, worship, and praises from our heart unto the Lord are divine boosters.  Let us try our best to win souls into the kingdom of God. You can also embark on individual evangelism, group evangelism, online evangelism, and broad evangelism (public centres). By the grace of God, I have embarked on these types of evangelism before, and I'm still evangelizing.

Whatever you do in the house of God, do it from your heart. If God calls you to do something, do it with love. Some people will mock at you, gossip, and oppose you. Sometimes it can come from carnal, legalistic and soulish Christians. Don’t give them (enemies and blind “Christians”) attention because it will affect your progress and destroy your zeal and first love.

Focus on doing the good works because Jesus Christ has called us unto good works. Whatever you do in the house of God, do it with all your heart and strength. Don’t imagine in your heart that you are doing for a man or the church. Have a mindset that you are doing it for God. If you follow this wisdom, you will experience the blessings of God.

It is good to build factories, good roads, hospitals, schools and other vital projects because it is a necessity. As we are building these things, let us not forget the spiritual things because that is the most crucial thing (See Matthew 6:33). No one can steal the investment you have made in God’s kingdom. Some people may not remember your good works, but God remembers them all.

 They are yours forever, and no one can take them from you. Treasure the things of God. Help others with what you have. By doing so, you build great treasures in the kingdom of God. Whatever you do for or against humankind and to God’s creation, you do unto God Almighty so think twice before you take action.
