Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Matthew
1:18-21 KJV
The gospel according to
Matthew gives a clear understanding of the birth of our Savior and Lord Christ
Jesus. We have four gospels in the New Covenant (New Testament). Each writer gives a unique
description of Jesus Christ. Matthew the tax collector wrote this gospel to the
Jews. The Jews are the descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel).
Mark wrote the gospel to
the Romans (the people living in Rome) to enable them to understand who
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is and the concept of Christian faith. Luke the Physician
wrote the gospel to the gentiles. The gentiles are non-Jews. Gentiles were
known as wicked sinners who did not love the things of God and enjoyed and the
pleasures of sin. John the close disciple of Jesus Christ wrote the gospel to
the Christians to enable the church to understand the person, divinity, and
teachings of Jesus Christ.
In the book of Matthew
chapter, one verses eighteen to twenty-one, Matthew makes us understand that
the birth of Jesus Christ was supernatural. There was no sexual intercourse
between Joseph and Mary. Mary was a virgin. She did not engage in an extramarital
affair with any man. The Holy Spirit breathed the seed into the
womb of Mary and the seed became Jesus Christ. The breath of the Holy Spirit
formed Jesus Christ.
Before the Holy Spirit
breathed the seed into Mary, Angel Gabriel asked permission from Mary before
the transaction took place which means the Holy Spirit did not force Himself on
Mary. It was Mary who allowed the Holy Spirit to breathe the seed into her womb.
When Joseph saw that Mary
was pregnant, she thought of secretly separating from Mary because he did not have sex with Mary. Joseph could have publicly
disgraced Mary, but he was a righteous man. Righteous people don’t publicly disgrace
others. They cover issues and solve them wisely.
Angel Gabriel appeared to
Joseph in a dream and explained to him about the birth of Jesus Christ. This
should let you understand that God knows our thoughts, plans and motives. We
can never hide our agenda from God. God looks at the motives behind our
actions (See Psalm 94:11, Hebrews 4:13, Psalm 139:1-4).
When Abraham lied to
Abimelech (king of Gerar) that Sarah was his sister. God did not condemn Abraham
because God knew the heart of Abraham. He knew Abraham did it with the integrity
of his heart (See Genesis 20:1-6). This does not mean that God
condones sin. God hates sin with a passion but the most important thing is the
state of our heart. Remember the men who brought the paralyzed man through the roof
of the house. Jesus saw their faith, forgave their sin, and healed the paralyzed
man (See Luke 5:17-25).
Men may condemn and curse
you of your actions because they are ignorant. This is one reason we must be slow to judge and quick to listen. If someone curses you because of what he or
she thinks about you and your heart is right with God, the curses will never
come to pass. Most often, the curses return to the one who cursed or the family of
the person (See Numbers 23:23, Genesis 12:1-3).
If you study the Bible
carefully, you understand that God spoke to people through dreams. Mary
received the message about the birth of Jesus Christ through dreams. Joseph frequently heard the voice of the angel Gabriel through dreams. Take
your dreams seriously because God speaks to us through that channel (See
Job 33:14-17).
Jesus means the Lord of
Salvation or the Savior. Christ means the Anointed One. This means we (Christians) have an
Anointed Savior living in us. Every Christian is anointed to save others. Jesus
Christ was born to save us from sin.
Sin birthed sickness,
poverty, wickedness, oppression, war, hopelessness, misery and all forms of
evil. This means Jesus Christ was born to save us from all these calamities. If
Jesus Christ lives in us, we have power over these calamities. The salvation
of Jesus Christ has brought deliverance. We have power over Satan and his
minions. We have power over creation. Jesus Christ has restored our dominion
mandate through His birth, death and resurrection. Glory to God!
If you are born again (repented,
confessed and accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord of your life),
you are free from the oppression of the devil but there is a responsibility.
You must exercise authority using the name of Jesus Christ in prayers because
Satan and his minions will throw fiery darts at you. Get my series of books.

forevermore. He lives in our heart in the person of the Holy Spirit. He understands
our pain, challenges, and fear. He wants to fellowship with us. He is the source

happy in life. If you are not born again. Recite these prayers from your heart
and follow the instruction to enable you to receive the new life in Christ
