The Ministry Keys (How to Connect with God 2)

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

(2 Timothy 2:20-21 KJV).

People desire to work with God, but they are not ready to pay the price. We know God is a merciful and a loving Father. There are some things God will never activate in your life until you pay the price. God is righteous in all His ways. He works with principles. He cannot break His laws and favour some above others.

Sometimes, people limit God, by their life experience and level of knowledge. Know this truth. You cannot restrict God with your limited knowledge and wisdom. You may have read many books, attended conferences, and acquired a significant number of certificates. Acquiring these things does not make you equal with God because He is the source of knowledge and wisdom. His wisdom and knowledge exceed your level of experience and wisdom (See Romans 11:33).

When people try to measure their level of knowledge and wisdom with God’s wisdom, they become abominable in His sight. Don’t allow your limited knowledge, wisdom and experience to make you proud because God resists the proud but give grace to the humble (See James 4:6). I believe in honouring God’s servants because there are blessings in it. You may see it foolish. God knows what I’m doing, and I know the secrets.

Most often, people do not understand spiritual things. For example, when you call someone your spiritual father or leader. The first thing that must come into your mind must be spirit. Spirit means an invisible connection. You don’t have to meet the person physically before the person becomes your spiritual leader, father, or mentor. You connect with the person spiritually because Christianity is a spiritual walk with the Holy Spirit.

Someone can be in India and choose someone in Ghana as his spiritual leader. The person may have not seen or talked with the spiritual leader. The person in India connects with his spirit with the leader in Ghana because it is a spiritual connection. How did the disciples of Jesus Christ know that Elijah and Moses were the ones which appeared to Jesus Christ during the transfiguration?

In the spiritual realm, we are all one in Christ. Why did Apostle Paul write to the church in Rome that we are one in Christ Jesus? (See Romans 12:5). Apostle Paul made that statement because Christianity is a spiritual thing. It is possible to choose a leader you have not seen or met in your life as your leader or mentor because it is a spiritual thing.

• Do you see God physically when you pray?
• Can you touch God when you pray?

You may not see or touch God during prayers, but you believe that God is with you, and He hears from you. That is faith! If you want to activate the hands of God on your life. You must know this truth, or else it will take a long time for you to receive from God and His servants. God uses His servants as an instrument to help us connect with Him. If you are waiting for God to talk you from Heaven, then I think you need a lot of counselling and intercessions.

Working with God requires sanctification. We have a role to play. You cannot continue in your wicked ways, and expect God to work with you. God wants you to make a decision that is why He gave you the mind to reason. If you have not repented, then you must repent and come out from anything that limits the hands of God upon your life.

God commanded Abraham to depart from his father’s house before He could use him. God allowed Moses to learn from the Egyptians and later sent him to Jethro to enable him to learn the tradition of the Israelites. God allowed Moses to stay in the wilderness because He needed to train him for the leadership position. The Holy Spirit drove Jesus Christ into the wilderness to enable Him fast and pray because He needed divine power for His assignment.

Joseph did not escape this training. He went through many challenges because he needed development. Do you know why Samson could not complete his assignment? He did not pass through the training. Child of God, if you want God to use you in the ministry, you must be ready for training because the ministry is about service. Know these spiritual truths.

• If you cannot serve, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are lazy, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are not ready to kill the desires of the flesh, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you cannot fast and pray, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you cannot adjust yourself to the principles of God’s Word, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are too proud to honour a minister of God with what you have, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are not ready to face persecution from the world, enemies, religious and carnal “Christians” you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you cannot sacrifice your comfort zone for the sake of God’s work, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are not ready to stand alone for your faith, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you cannot stand destructive and constructive criticism, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you want to please all men, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are not ready to make enemies, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are not bold and courageous, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are ignorant, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you don’t love reading relevant books, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you are not ready for rejection, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you think, the ministry is for lazy people and people who have nothing to do in life and because of that you want to be in it; you are not qualified to be in the ministry.
• If you don’t love Jesus Christ with all your heart, strength, and resources, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you don’t love people from your heart, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If your love for God is not greater than anyone else’s love, you cannot be in the ministry.
• If you don’t have a stubborn and unstoppable faith in the Word of God, you cannot be in the ministry.

I hope these few revelations will challenge you to stand with Jesus Christ. Don’t be moved by your current circumstance. Stay on course, be disciplined, consistent, prayerful and take action when no one is willing to help you. God will speak at the right time.
