OVERCOMING THE SPIRIT OF DARKNESS 3

Matthew 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,Matthew 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.Matthew 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

We must be vigilant in these last days because the devil knows his time is approaching. We have to watch and pray to avoid temptation because Satan and his minions have set traps for us (See Matthew 26:41). If the devil tempted Jesus Christ, then we must understand that He will also tempt us. Every temptation that leads to sin is a trap of the enemy.

God will never allow us to be tempted above our strength because He is faithful.

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

The will of God is to lead us to salvation. God will forever be on our side if we walk closely with the Holy Spirit and walk in the light of the Word. The devil will always show you the benefit and hide and the consequences. The devil presents the glory and hides the curses. Many people have ended up in the grave because of earthly glory.

We must understand the strategy of the enemy because He is a liar and a murderer (See John 8:44). There is no truth in the devil because He always speaks lies. The devil hides deception in every truth He speaks because He is a deceiver. His plan for our life is to bring us shame and confusion. Every Christian must understand that our power is above Satan’s power (See 1 John 4:4).

Satan will show you the riches, cars, mansions, aeroplanes, ships, and temporal things. He will let you desire these temporal things and forget God. This does not mean when you buy these things, you are deceived. No! God checks the motives behind our actions. He knows the hidden thoughts in our hearts.

Humankind always judges from the outward appearance, but God checks our hearts. If our heart is right with God, no man or woman can destroy the plans of God for our lives. Let the entire world stand against you, they can never defeat you, if Jesus Christ is on your side. All things will work together for your good if you love God and walks in the reverence of God. God can use your mistakes to open doors for you if your heart is right with God.

• Men and women may curse you, their words will backfire, and will never come to pass if Jesus Christ is on your side (See Genesis 12:1-3).
• The devil will use your neighbours to mock and disgrace you if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use the media to bring you down if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use religious “Christians” to humiliate you if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use your family to disgrace you if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use your enemies to mock and bring you down if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use carnal Christians to humiliate you if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use demons to fight and bring you down if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use temporal things to confuse and bring you down if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use curses to limit and bring you down if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use hardship to limit your faith and bring you down if you don’t put on the whole armour of God
• The devil will use people to hurt you emotionally if you don’t put on the whole armour of God
• The devil will use fear to bring you down if you don’t put on the whole armour of God
• The devil will use demons to destroy you if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.
• The devil will use inferiority to bring you down if you don’t put on the whole armour of God.

We have spiritual weapons , and these weapons can break his deception. We have the Word in our hearts and in a written form. Study and declare the Word when the enemy tries to attack you. Don’t always be on the defensive side. Be a fighter in the Kingdom because we are in spiritual warfare. Don’t embrace the false teachings that the devil cannot hurt us. Apostle Paul would never have written to the church in Ephesus to put on the whole armour of God if we were not in spiritual warfare (See Ephesians 6:10-18).

We don’t put on the whole armour of God if there is no spiritual warfare. Soldiers put on bulletproof because of the enemy. We must put on the spiritual armour because there is an invisible war. Don’t be deceived in your righteous because the devil does not fear our righteousness. He fears the righteousness of Jesus Christ (See Isaiah 54:17). The devil fears the blood of Jesus Christ because it is a spiritual weapon.
