Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
The Holy scriptures described Noah as a matured man who found grace in the sight of God. The Lord warned Noah to create an ark to enable his family, and the animals escape His wrath. The Word of God states that the people were deep in sin. Their heart and mind were full of evil. It got to a stage where the people had sex with demons and animals.
Since God is a righteous God, He gave the people a second chance to enable those who are ready to repent to escape His judgment. The Word of God states that Noah received the voice of God by faith. The question is, how did Noah receive the Word of God? How did Noah discern that it was the voice of God speaking to him to create the ark?
The scriptures further state that God warned Noah. Noah had no evidence of God’s anger, yet he moved with fear to create the ark. Most often, God will speak to us through the warning. Other times we have to discern the voice of God by faith. You must train the inner man to enable you to hear the voice of God because God speaks to us all the time.
I remember during a prayer meeting; I heard an audible voice mentioned my first name with a shout. I ignored and kept praying because I did not know that the Lord was calling me. Later, I opened my eyes to check on the one who called my name, but I saw nobody. All the people in the prayer meeting were busy praying whiles I was searching for the one who called me. I did not know it was the Lord calling me. As I am maturing in the Lord, I realize that the Lord was calling.

I believe Noah's family were the first people to criticize his faith because in the natural, it looked stupid. How can God command Noah to prepare an ark to save the animals and His family? Noah’s family may criticize Noah’s faith because it was not possible to get all the animals to the ark and secondly building the ark would be stressful, but Noah did not allow his senses to control him, he acted on the Word of God.
Sometimes, we have to stay with what God has told us. In the natural, it may look like we are stupid. Our family may criticize us. The world may oppose us for our faith. We need to be strong in the Lord as we put on the whole armour of God. Imagine the mockery of the unbelievers when Noah and his family were preparing the ark.
The ark Noah built is a symbol of God’s salvation and love for wicked sinners. When God speaks to you, act on His command because He knows the future. The pressure of the world may feature itself. Imitate the faith of Noah because he did not allow the mockery of the unbelievers and his family to stop him from obeying the word of God. Noah did not allow his senses to override his faith because he believed God spoke to him.
- God is speaking to you about the ministry, will you obey God or your family?
- God is speaking to you about the souls perishing in your community, will you obey the voice of God because they need your prayers and preaching.
- God is speaking to you to vacate your community; will you obey the voice of God?
- God is speaking to you about the relationship, will you obey the voice of God?
- God is speaking to you about the job, will you obey the voice of God?
- God is speaking to you about the wickedness, will you obey the voice of God and escape His wrath?
- God is speaking to you through the voice of your leaders, will you obey the voice of God?
- God is speaking to you about the friendship, will you obey the voice of God?
- God is speaking to you about the lukewarmness, will you obey the voice of God?
Divine Key: Don’t allow your five senses to limit you from obeying God!
